About the role

The 3D Home Team is looking for an experienced Android developer to help us build our 3D Home app for Android! As a senior developer, you will be responsible for defining architectural direction, crafting amazing user experiences, driving features forward across multiple teams, and blazing trails. You’ll work side-by-side with outstanding computer vision and machine learning teams to push the limits of what devices can do while building our new capture experiences.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

Who you are

5+ years of software application and systems development experience.

Experience in developing mobile consumer software applications, with a strong understanding of the mobile ecosystem, and a customer-focused attitude.

A proven track record of high efficiency and quality in software design, coding, testing, and debugging.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills - use data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations.

The ability to work in a fast, agile and forward-thinking environment with frequent change.

Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills. Friendly collaborator with others.

Ideally three or more of the following:

  • Deep experience with Kotlin, Java and building Android applications.

  • Ability to write quality code with testing, scalability, and reusability in mind.

  • Broad experience with Android SDK and architecture components such as Jetpack.

  • Experience with 360 media, imaging, graphics, and camera APIs.

  • Strong experience profiling for optimizing performance and resource utilization.

  • Comfortable providing technical leadership and mentoring to more junior engineers.

  • In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.
