We are seeking a dynamic field service engineer with a track record of success to play a key role in supporting the growth of our company providing outstanding technical support to customers. You will work closely with manufacturing, R & D, and engineering to recognize and solve customer issues, and recommend product improvements.

Job Function:

  • Install new equipment at customer site and perform functional verification testing 
  • Train users on equipment operation and trouble shooting 
  • Interface between customers and manufacturing and development engineers to resolve customer complaints and field failures 
  •  Track and provide reports on customer complaints and field failures 
  •  Provide recommendations on service tracking/reporting software packages 
  •  Manage trouble-shooting guidelines on several equipment lines 
  •  Accessibility to a major airport within a one-hour drive (80% travel) 
  •   Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive & document in-bound technical troubleshooting calls and follow-up in a timely manner. 
  • Recommend field service improvement programs for existing and new products. 
  •  Assist in development of Fault-Tree and respond to customer requests. 
  •  Deliver world-class field service and build customer satisfaction. 
  •  Adhere to safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures. 
  •  Strong electrical / mechanical aptitude on automated equipment. 
  •  Ability to read and work from electrical schematics. 
  •  Hands-on person with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly. 
  •  Able to follow through on equipment installations, from pre-installation to final training. 
  •  A good working knowledge of PLC’s and ladder logic. 
  •  Ability to provide assistance to customers both in person and by phone dealing with technical and operational issues. 
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  •  Travel to customer or manufacturing sites required, up to 75 -80 %.
  •  Person must be able to travel internationally with a passport. 
  •  Accessibility to a major airport within a one-hour drive. 
  • Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipment. 
  • Inspect, test, and repair equipment following manufacturers' specifications, using test and analysis instruments. 
  • Study technical manuals and attend training sessions provided by equipment manufacturers to maintain current knowledge. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance or service such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment
  • Accountability 
  • Accountable for the completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Able to file customer trip reports, travel expenses and monthly summary reports in a timely manner. 
  • Educational Background: 

     AS in engineering, equivalent technical field degree, or equivalent technical experience

     Experience:

     3- 5 years in technical field service, preferably complex printing devices or equivalent; electromechanical

    Other Requirements:

  •  Experience training customers on equipment set-up and operation 
  •  Familiarity with complex instrumentation, flexographic equipment or equivalent 
  •  Strong technical ability and troubleshooting experience 
  •  Working knowledge of PLC’s and control devises 
  •  Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills 
  • Attention to detail, strong interpersonal and documentation skills, and strong work ethic
