Take your place on our strong team and help us make significant contributions to the world.Location/Division Specific InformationCambridge, MA/ (Anywhere in US Remote)How will you make an impact?Global SME for RNA Manufacturing will support new Business Development for the newly created mRNA Manufacturing infrastructure at site(s) by interfacing with customers and internal groups to assess technical requirements for mRNA development and will support generation of comprehensive proposals working with site SME's, Quotes & Operations. The SME will support Marketing in creating content and promoting our technical capability to build a market image of Thermo Fisher as a leader in mRNA manufacturing.What will you do?Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting Sales and Business Development Executives (BDE) for mRNA manufacturing projects at the PSG sites.Assesses customer needs, proposes scientifically sound development pathways, seeks collaborative solutions, and translates requirements to quotations group. Ensures proposed solutions are scientifically viable and meet the business needs of both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific.Reviews final proposals to ensure consistency with customer requirement in Request for Proposals (RFPs).Ensures site presentation is consistent with corporate marketing standards, updates frequently with current technical capabilities.Leads customer site visits along with site SME's and responsible for customer experience while on site.Identifies strategic opportunities with relevance to mRNA manufacturing for capability enhancement to gain more proposal acceptance and business growth based on market and customer requests.Supports BDEs as SME at customer site visits representing capability of the sites and Thermo Fisher network.Trains current senior staff on mRNA manufacturing capabilities presentation. Develops and presents to external groups include trade associations and scientific organizations.Engages customers and operations staff for problem solving.Collaborates with Marketing and supports publication of scientific articles, white papers and thought leadership articles to raise the visibility of Thermo Fisher's expertise and services.How will you get here?EducationB.S. in biological sciences with significant experience in molecular / cell biologic development and manufacturing with 9 years' industry experience.Masters / Ph.D. in biological sciences related to development with 7 years' industry experience.ExperienceMinimum of 7years' experience in scale-up, optimization and GMP clinical and commercial mRNA production.A good understanding of upstream and downstream activities to support mRNA manufacturing (plasmids, NTP's, capping, etc.Manufacturing of lipid nano particles (LNP's) containing mRNA and optimization of formulations.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesSubject Matter Expert in mRNA manufacturing.Understands cost drivers for development and GMP manufacturing.Knowledgable of emerging trends and technologies in mRNA synthesis and critical steps in LNP production.Superlative interpersonal skills.Superlative oral and written communication skills.Excellent presentation skills.Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Effectively translates customer requirements to quotations group and project management at project kick off.Ability to travel monthly domestically and internationally (as required by Business Unit).At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 75,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
