This high-profile position is a strategic leader that provides expertise for all aspects of communications. Guides development and implementation of a communications program based on purposeful content that inspires and drives desired behavior. Oversees various communications functions, channels and people to build a communications infrastructure that is unified and ensures Trinity Health's brand voice is authentic. Serves as a strategic advisor to executives and others. Partners with MarComm team members throughout the system to operate as an integrated and best in class team that engages members and amplifies the system's voice to its audiences. Leads people and system-wide teams.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1.Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.2.Directs development and leads multiple internal and external communication areas, programs and shared service functions across the national health system, ensuring consistency and alignment with the system's business goals.3.Accountability and oversight may include a mix of media relations, issue and crisis communications, system-wide programs and initiatives, executive communications, social media, internal communications, brand communications and various internal and external channel management.Media Relations: Develops and leads a media relations program that builds and protects the brand and reputation of Trinity Health and our Health Ministries, including developing strong media relationships at the national level; reactive media strategies. Internal Communications: Develops and manages a comprehensive, integrated communications infrastructure across the national system, leveraging storytelling to inspire and engage and support strategic and mission critical priorities. Social Media: Guides Trinity Health's social media strategy that includes creating a compelling presence, strengthening engagement and elevating Health Ministries' connection to Trinity Health. Influencer: Influences and provides expertise for all aspects of communications and its infrastructure; provides counsel and guidance to senior leaders on key communications strategies and controversial or challenging issues. Tracking, Metrics & Analysis: Develops and leads results dashboards, including meaningful KPIs; interprets data and provides solid analysis that is actionable; identifies strategic weaknesses and recommendations for improvements and opportunities for success. Incident Command: Serves as a public information officer for the Incident Command team (as outlined by FEMA) for crises including clinical systems failures, security breaches and others. Visionary Leader: Decisive leader with an outstanding sense of team and collaboration, driving a culture of continuous improvement and best practice communications; inspire, coach and develop the Communications team. Manages Change & Ambiguity: Embraces and builds a team culture that is comfortable adjusting priorities in an evolving and dynamic environment; easily flexes thinking and approach in changing situations; aligns priorities, timelines and budgets based on resource availability. Continuous Learner: Maintains expertise in industry and MarComm; retains professional affiliations and pursues continuing education opportunities to enhance professional growth. Advanced degree is preferred. Ten (10) years of progressively responsible management experience in communications strategy and operational oversight in large, national/global organizations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) is a plus. Subject matter expert in all aspects of internal and external communications, including but not limited to media relations, public relations, executive communications, social media and leadership development, change management and employee engagement communications strategies. Expertise developing and executing integrated communications at a national level or an equivalent complex, matrix organization. Experience creating and managing integrated communication plans and strategies (including identifying goals, objectives and metrics), outstanding writing ability that is audience and channel focused, as well as activating plans across multiple media and channels to achieve business goals. Demonstrated ability to lead with a system-mentality and develop cohesive internal communications strategies as part of an integrated MarComm team in a complex, matrix organization; strong understanding of employee engagement and leadership development communications. Experience developing and supporting an integrated communications infrastructure including content, key messaging, talking points, presentations; managing design, campaigns, newsletters, publications, meetings, special events, online content, and budget and tracking. Experience maintaining brand voice and adapting to different platforms. Clear understanding of operational areas, including clinical, human resources, revenue cycle, information technology, supply chain, electronic health records, and more. Executive level poise and skill sets. Experience successfully handling large volumes of work and multiple projects under pressure and tight timelines, prioritizing and adapting to changing priorities and situations in an ambiguous and dynamic environment. Experience navigating within complex matrixed organizations. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSThis position operates in a typical office environment. The area is well lit, temperature controlled and free from hazards.Incumbent communicates frequently, in person and over the phone, with people in all locations.Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently. Manual dexterity is needed to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communication. The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same time and adapt to interruptions. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
