Join us in guiding and building the future state of the Ball Aerospace enterprise IT environment! In this position, the Vendor Management Specialist will assist in the implementation of a strategic vendor management capability to reduce risks, reduce costs, and ensure an insightful, considered approach to enable IT's vendor management.

We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with excellent organization and analytical thinking skills to help with the implementation of strategic vendor management. As a member of the Strategy and Digital Transformation organization, this role will help to ensure that IT efforts are continually made more efficient and standardized, our processes are visible, measured, and continually improving, reducing risk, enabling efficiency and agility.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of the strategic vendor management function including reviewing requests for new capabilities to determine which need detailed evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Vendor Management Lead to build and manage an inventory of all IT and business software vendors, both on-premises and cloud/SaaS. Adhere to a consistent approach to tracking and monitoring vendors is followed for team reference.
  • Support the Strategic Vendor Management Lead with the reporting and review of long-term and short-term views of upcoming spend including major license renewals and other large vendor engagements to ensure visibility.
  • Help socialize strategic vendor management processes which will provide insight into customer service, reduced cost, quality, improved vendor service and to ensure they continue to meet Ball Aerospace IT's needs. Ensure consistent process for vendor evaluation is followed.
  • Work closely with Indirect Supply Chain, IT Procurement, Enterprise Architecture, IT Infrastructure, and the Strategic Vendor Management Lead to ensure timely execution of purchases, and provide transparent visibility to status of requests.
  • Identify and raise timely concerns related to renewals and vendor engagements.
  • Enable relentless process improvement through timely feedback on process and procedure opportunities.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/SSU and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need

  • Related Bachelor's and 5 or more years of related experience; or HS Diploma and 11 or more years of related experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, with problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer knowledge and organizational skills, and must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills a plus.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Costpoint, OnBase, IFS, a plus
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and able to work independently as needed.
  • Comfortable with, and able to provide structure to, ambiguous and fluid situations.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and is also able to work well in teams.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
