Job Summary:Under general direction, responsible for ensuring the preparation of tax filings and reporting in compliance with all required federal, state and local regulations. Also responsible for resolving tax issues through research and collaboration with other departments, and advising management on possible tax related impact to the organization.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Coordinate annual tax return compliance preparation and filings with outside CPA firm, including preparation of all federal, state, local, and international (Canadian) workpapers.Preparation of certain tax returns prepared internally.Prepare quarterly estimated federal, state, local and international (Canadian) tax payment calculations, and assure timely filing of estimated tax payments.Preparation of tax return extension estimated tax calculations and assure timely filing of any necessary extension request. Coordinate with outside CPAs as appropriate.Maintain tax due date calendar and assure the timely filing of all tax returns, estimated tax payments, sales and use tax returns, property tax returns and other compliance matters.Research, recommend and implement tax saving initiatives, both independently and in coordination with outside tax and consulting firms.Calculate, review and file monthly and quarterly sales, and use tax returns for all applicable jurisdictions.Interface with the Finance Department, other corporate departments and subsidiaries to provide consultative expertise by ensuring business initiatives comply with tax regulations and are consistent with corporate tax strategy.Conduct research to resolve tax issues.Prepare and file annual personal property tax returns for all entities.Respond to all federal, state and local tax correspondence, including completion of business registration process for any new tax jurisdictions. Assist with any audits by taxing jurisdictions.Education and Experience (required):Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Taxation, or related field.Minimum five (5) years tax experience which includes Public Accounting and/or industry experience.Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Preferred.Education and Experience (preferred):Master's degree in Taxation (Preferred).Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (required):Possess thorough understanding of corporate, partnership and individual tax returns.Ability to work independently and also be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.Ability to research federal and state tax codes to resolve complex tax issues.Ability to coordinate and work with outside CPAs and tax advisorsWell organized, detail oriented and good written and verbal communication skills.Creative in identifying and executing tax saving initiatives.Additional Information: Direct Reports: NoneTravel Requirements: NoneMajority of work can be done remotely.
