POSITION PURPOSE
We’re looking for a Product Manager Instructor to join our OrangeMethod team! OrangeMethod is a program that allows The Home Depot associates to develop Software Engineering skills. 

Living by our core values, Home Depot Technology strives to provide opportunities and an education in technology, design, and business for our associates, enabling them to improve their skillsets and pursue work that is meaningful to them within our company. To continue to achieve this goal, we are expanding our technology learning initiative, OrangeMethod, offering classes, workshops, and events. 

This learning center works with the various Tech portfolios to help accelerate the software development transformation through their associates with an approach of learning by doing. These initiatives are taught and led by inspiring experienced software engineers and designers who have first-hand exposure to the technologies and roles their students strive to obtain. We need an energetic, empathetic, intelligent, hardworking and motivated individual who can instruct our development courses and establish this new approach to technical learning at The Home Depot.


MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Build and design curriculums for our technical teams to instruct a class on the disciplines and skills for Product Management
  • Teach, mentor, and coach our Product Managers the skills to become successful
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Must be eighteen years of age or older.
    Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

    Additional Minimum Qualifications:
    Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

    Education Required:
    The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

    Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 years
    Physical Requirements:
    Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1-3 years of relevant work experience
    Experience working as a Product Manager in a modern software development based enterprise environment
    Demonstrated experience with modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies, specifically the extreme programming (XP) principles of paired programming, test driven development, and continuous deployment
    Experience working in a fast paced, fluid environment where priorities shift on a regular basis
    Experience communicating with and influencing functional and technical team members at all levels in the organization
    Experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software design and development team
    Experience creating, prioritizing and accepting user stories
    Experience conducting user research and testing to understand needs
    Experience identifying goals, metrics and analytics to measure product value
    Experience conducting competitive research and analysis
