What you will do


Our Ducted Systems National Accounts team is seeking an energetic, competitive and motivated National Account Sales Executive to promote innovative and integrated control solutions to drive growth in the national Retail and Multi-Site markets. This role is highly collaborative and will work with our York HVAC National Account Managers, as well as bring new customer opportunities forward, driving overall growth in order intake and new controls national account customers.

He/she will drive profitable growth with large, Multi-Site customers throughout North America. You will be assigned existing accounts, while also sourcing, closing and driving growth with new logos. You will also have expertise within an assigned vertical market (Retail, Grocery, Convenience Stores or Distribution Centers), understanding market drivers and trends, competition, and buying criteria. The ideal candidate will have experience in at least one of Johnson Controls’ (JCI) four commercial building product segments: Fire, Security, HVAC or Building Controls, and use his/her collaborative style to work internally across JCI product groups to bundle valuable solutions.

We are looking for seasoned, executive-level business developers that will take ownership of an account, work across customer departments and functions, and identify and close opportunities using a creative and consultative approach. Expertise in account planning is critical, as the successful candidate will think strategically and methodically leading to a plan.

How you will do it

  • Drive top-line order intake growth for the business by aggressively hunting, developing and leveraging relationships across the US and Canadian market to position JCI as the preferred provider of integrated and mid-market building automation solutions with a focus on new installations - construction, retrofit, design/build opportunities and service.
  • Develop and expand long-term customer relationships within the national account Retail end-user, developers, consulting engineers, vendor partners, and subcontractors to ensure maximum opportunity for JCI growth.
  • Team up with other divisions to leverage their existing customer relationships to create new opportunities and to leverage existing Retail market relationships.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of our industry including HVAC, Controls and Mechanical, along with an aptitude for analytics, information technology, software, and networking for intelligent buildings.
  • Be the industry expert on how to improve Retail experience with mid-market and integrated building systems.
  • Collaborate, garner support and communicate effectively with internal staff to develop and deliver executive presentations. 
  • What we look for 
    Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field of study.
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ progressive sales experience in building products, automation or HVAC.
  • Expertise within a multi-site vertical.
  • Excellent team and project management skills. 
  • Self-motivated to exceed goals and contribute to a winning team.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (post-COVID).
  • Where legally permissible, if hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than his/her start date, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding he/she from receiving the vaccine.
