The Position

Sr. Syncade MES Product Manager

Pharma Technical Operations Informatics (PT IX) - Internal Manufacturing

Mission

Build and maintain the Pharma Technical Operations Informatics Internal Manufacturing MES Product lifecycle providing innovative and reliable Information Technology products enabling reliable Drug Substance Manufacturing meeting business objectives in a lean and compliant manner.

As Sr. Syncade MES Product Manager you will oversee Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) product (technology, standards ) within a Network’s mandate being accountable for the end-to-end product lifecycle and ensuring, in partnering with relevant business stakeholders, that the products are fit-for-purpose.

What you’ll be working on

  • Co-create product vision and strategy with business partners (Business Process Owner/Manager, Product Owners) in collaboration with IT Partners(Architects, Global Infrastructure and Business Analysts), external vendors and brings in a value adding Informatics point of view to help continuously improve business processes and solutions. Manage the long-term product roadmap.

  • Smell opportunities to create additional value and improve business processes and patient outcomes 

  • Manage product lifecycle including release management and decide when enough value has been accrued to warrant a release to the business. In collaboration with Product owners, prioritize product releases considering the optimal flow of throughput from different teams/squads

  • Determine business criticality and product quality. Define, in collaboration with Delivery Service Manager, service levels, governance and operational support

  • Lead or coordinate technical discussions and vendor negotiations

  • Actively participate in Technical strategy setting, Roadmap meetings in Pharma Technical Operations Informatics (PT IX), Drug Substance Manufacturing Informatics and across informatics.

  • Support C-Pod in prioritization and strategic planning, and collaborate with Site IT Business Partners to meet the needs of the business areas they are partnering with

  • In collaboration with IT Business Partners, monitor and improve customer and user experience

  • Has business domain knowledge for the following area(s)

  • Biopharmaceutical or similar Manufacturing domain

  • Knowledge of informational and operational technologies (IT/OT), MES integration to enterprise systems.

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Automation, MES integration with enterprise systems like LIMS, Data Historian, ERP etc.

  • Knowledge of new product introduction, supply chain and manufacturing operations as applicable to MES

  • Keep abreast of key Manufacturing IT trends and be curious - Industrial IoT, Manufacturing Digital Plant Maturity, Cybersecurity, Pharma Data Integrity principles, technology, and data standardization, etc.

  • Nurtures and develops a business savvy consultative and value-driven partnership.

  • Champions PT Informatics Product Management Strategy in implementing global Core Platforms

    The position of IT MES Product Manager in the Drug Substance (DS) Manufacturing IT group requires an individual skilled in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with in-depth technical knowledge of Emerson Syncade Suite or Siemens SIMATIC Execution Pharma (SIMATIC IT eBR). Experienced in rolling out global MES core platforms in a diverse organizational landscape of the manufacturing site they are assigned.

    They will develop professional relationships with the Site IT Business Partners, Business leaders, global IT partners in transforming site IT landscape through IT/OT technology roadmaps.
     

  • Plan and partner and oversee the Product lifecycle management of MES platform(s) working with cross-functional Business groups.

  • Educate, sensitize, and manage the expectations of customers to IT realities, challenges, and fundamentals.

  • Champion IT Partnership with vendors in running product roadmap, user advisory board in bringing Industry vision to enhance business performance.

  • Coordinate lifecycle discussions and plan Product roadmap for the Site including 3-5-7 year lifecycle, multi-year deployment strategy, and influence global IT partners for Infrastructure upgrades, global solutions deployment in achieving Site KPIs.

  • Develop and collaborate MES Roadmap including but not limited to lifecycle upgrades, deployment of new IT standards, business standards, cutover plan and provide technology guidance to Sites.

  • Requirements:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience implementing MES solutions, product management, or

  • 7+ years of experience in developing and rolling out IT core platforms.

  • Must have experience in life sciences Manufacturing domain, technology, multiple modalities of Manufacturing including large scale, Single-Use Technologies, or Personalized Health care.

  • 5+ years of experience in using Informational Technologies in solving business challenges across the end-to-end value chain and must have experience in Manufacturing Systems (Pharmaceutical, Biological or High Tech Industrial Manufacturing)

  • Prior experience in working closely with IT/OT provider’s Rockwell, Emerson, Siemens, Cytiva, OSISoft and Integration vendors.

  • Availability to travel up to 20-25%. Must be open to both domestic and global travel.
