Role: The Director of Enterprise Architecture is a leadership role that will define the vision and strategy for enterprise architecture across Splunk. This position will lead a small but growing team of architects to set and lay the foundation for enterprise architecture for Splunk IT and our business partners. This role will require deep collaboration with various leaders and senior individuals across the company to build consensus and an in-depth understanding of key business processes and the applications and technologies that support them. This requires the ability to seamlessly blend engagement skills, business understanding, critical thinking, technical mastery, and architectural knowledge to drive to define an IT roadmap that will scale and mature capabilities. The ability to assess organizational strengths and weaknesses and make the choices appropriate to the organization while performing managerial duties is important.This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, prioritize, and handle various tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive demeanor. In addition, strong verbal communication and written documentation skills are a must for this role for promoting ideas throughout the business to both technical and non-technical audiences. Responsibilities Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for overall enterprise architecture to facilitate strategic and long-range planning for a set of broad business objectivesCommunicate the architecture vision across the enterprise and help various segments adopt and adapt the proposed solutionsBuild the architecture roadmap with the business strategy in mind to ensure a scalable and optimized application technology portfolioLead and manage a team of accomplished architects to enable high performance and to remove obstacles that impede their objectivesEngage and influence all major business partners on their respective initiativesPartner with IT PMO and Product Management to align programs to the overall IT strategy and architectural roadmapDefine and implement architectural principles, methodologies, and benchmarksResearch, evaluate, and recommend application technologies and help lead tradeoff studies and promote adoption of the right solutions for the enterpriseWork closely to operationalize the architectures with solution architects and delivery team to profile the implementationLead and participate in an enterprise architecture review board to ensure technical solutions meet the expectations of the business while coexisting with existing architecturesDefine inherently secure, resilient, and composable architectures that scale for growthDefine repeatable artifacts that document the proposed architectures, designs, processes, and toolingHelp with reviews and audits of existing architectures and implementations and help with refactoring architectures where required.Work with security and compliance teams to ensure that methodologies in cybersecurity are applied and conform to company and industry practices Requirements 10+ years of demonstrated enterprise architecture experience within IT7+ years of management experience and building enterprise architecture teamsDemonstrated knowledge of business, technology, application, data, and security architecturesTrack record of successfully establishing and implementing enterprise architecture methods and practices in an Agile and DevOps environmentDemonstrated knowledge of SaaS, infrastructure, and cloud computing architecturesDemonstrated knowledge of data security and compliance controlsAbility to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that connects with the corporate strategy and inspires individuals at all levels Education BS or MS in Computer Science/Information Systems/Business or equivalent experience requiredThis isn't a job - it's a life changer - are you ready?Splunk has been named one of San Francisco Bay Area's "Best Places to Work" by the San Francisco Business Times, ten years in a row.
