Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)This individual will be responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality. Creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use across the Optum Customer Capabilities Team.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization Producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients Use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data Work on predominately descriptive and regression-based analytics and tend to leverage subject matter expert views in the design of their analytics and algorithms Identify appropriate data sources, report metrics, and tools for providing required information according to clients' requests -Determine scope of requested work in order to assess resource requirements and create work plans (e.g., time; personnel) -Demonstrate understanding of reporting requirements for various benefits plans (e.g., health plans; prescription programs; care management programs) Provide information and/or assistance (e.g., answer questions; provide time estimates) to internal team members to support requirements gathering and planning efforts Identify and/or create relevant databases (e.g., fields; libraries) needed to source appropriate data Demonstrate understanding of relevant software and databases (e.g., SQL; Excel; Access; SAS; Hyperion) Review and/or identify appropriate report format to use (e.g., existing reports; new report) based on customers' needs Test and review completed reports and associated metrics used in order to ensure accuracy and quality (e.g., compare to previous reports) Ensure customers have appropriate access to reports (e.g., review security provisions; ensure proper documentation is obtained) -Test and verify the accuracy of incoming or received data and/or coding prior to generating automated reports Develop tests and/or software modules needed to assess the accuracy of data and/or coding used for report generation Provide support to internal and/or external customers on issues that arise when creating reports (e.g., database issues, table updates Create and/or update presentation documents and materials to summarize results (e.g., written reports; PowerPoint deck; graphs and/or charts) You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
