Senior Ruby Developer - £70k - Fully Remote

Avanti Recruitment have partnered with a SaaS company that work with some of the biggest and most recognisable broadcasting companies globally to hire for a Senior Ruby Developer. You will be joining their high performing team and will play a vital role taking the company to the next level as they continue their growth.

The company build, host, scale and maintain their industry leading platform that is used by broadcasting companies of all sizes, with their customer base one of the most impressive I have seen in a long time. The platform is powered by a Ruby API that you will be responsible for as part of their Ruby Development team, as well as all backend development.

The role is fully remote and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Working hours are flexible and the company give you freedom and autonomy to produce your best work, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance. The Technical Director who you will report in to is a really nice guy that understands what it is to be a Ruby Developer as he is one himself and remains hands on to this day, so you will get his support not only as a really understanding, down to earth manager, but from a really experienced development point of view too.

As part of your role, you will beat the forefront of both the planning and development of new features and integrations. You will work closely with the Tech Director to ensure both internal goals and customer requirements are met and exceeded, aligning them with the company roadmap and their plans of global domination.

You will act as a source of knowledge for the Ruby team, acting as a mentor, providing training, doing code reviews and setting standards to ensure the codebase is cohesive and easy to understand. The company work as efficiently as possible and automate wherever they can. Innovation comes from within the team so you are expected to suggest changes to process or tools that can be used to further our goals.

The tech team consists of a UI team that manages the frontend and development of iOS

applications, and the Ruby team that manages the API and DevOps. The teams work closely together and you should be comfortable communicating your suggestions and consider the full stack when planning features.
