Job Summary

As the 1health Director of Product for Core Platform Services, you are responsible for building and maintaining the Core APIs that the 1health platform runs on. You do not need healthcare experience. You do need extensive experience in designing, building, and pricing platforms at scale. Your goal is to revolutionize healthcare by designing systems the way they should be designed.

This is a hands-on technical role who will work cross-functionally with development and the sales team. A deep technical aptitude of API specifications used outside of healthcare is required. This role also requires business aptitude including understanding how to price different technology services. You are responsible to quickly and adeptly handle problems that arise in the most efficient manner that aligns with 1health’s vision. You need to learn and have a deep understanding of 1health’s products and technology and how the pieces fit together to provide an excellent client experience. You are responsible for the product line lifecycle and will oversee every step and will serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community.

Job Duties

  • Research, Analyze & Monitor - Uncover and understand the client needs and translate them into requirements. Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. Able to assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage. Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly. Continually Assess and address technical risks. Understand and analyze data pipelines, algorithms, and automated systems. Coordinate beta tests. Use database queries to analyze performance indicators, evaluate experiments, etc. Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
  • Develop Solutions - Write specifications for new product features, partnering with Engineering, Sales, Product, Marketing, etc.. Develop and refine 1health’s product strategy. Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities, help the sales team answer product questions, and perform quality assurance checks of new products and features. Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
  • Collaborate - Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations. Partner with product teams on product strategies, new products, and new features. Coordinate cross-functionally on the products market strategy and roadmap. Work with the Design Team to create designs for new products and features. Partner with the Operations Team on logistics for physical products. Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product.

Job Specifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience as Product Manager or Developer is required.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience designing platforms is required.
  • Thorough understanding of writing code, objects and how programs work is required.
  • Knowledge of how to price technological services is required.
  • Ability to create technical specifications and lead teams to create those products is required.
  • Knowledge of traditional JSON REST APIs is required.
  • Experience working within a Software as a Service (SaaS) company is required.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Problem solving, inductive reasoning, and computer coding, and basic math skills are required.
  • Must possess strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining motivated and adaptable.
  • Ability to be proactive, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, editing and document preparation skills, and high attention to detail is required.
  • A collaborative team player with no ego, coupled with an outstanding ability to communicate in simple terms and partner efficiently cross-functionally at all levels is required.

Physical Demands

This job is operated in a professional remote office environment. This job is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee has the flexibility to move as needed. The employee will constantly operate a computer, phone, keyboard, mouse, and other office productivity equipment. The employee will frequently communicate with both internal and external customers and co-workers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear and concise manner. Must be able to recognize objects from short and long distances.
