Redshift DBA/Database Engineer - Remote

Our database environments are complex and diverse, storing and processing tens of billions of rows of data per day. We run on a range of highly scalable, cloud-based data platforms, with our primary database being Redshift on AWS. We are looking for an experienced, skilled, and versatile Database Engineer/DBA to join our growing team to transition our data platform to the next level. Remote location. #LI-Remote

Regular Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Optimizing and troubleshooting Redshift performance
  • Partnering with other developers, engineers, and administrators to establish
  • and implement efficient table design patterns, and query optimization techniques
  • Contributing to the design and management of a highly scalable enterprise
  • data warehouse (EDW) using systems like AWS Redshift, S3, Lambda, and Airflow
  • Automating routine administrative functions wherever prudent and possible
  • Monitoring and reporting performance metrics related to system health and utilization
  • Managing database privileges and promoting data security and compliance across all database systems
  • Educating team members on Redshift capabilities and limitations
  • Continuously researching and applying best practices for enterprise data management
  • Requirements

  • 3+ years of DBA experience supporting Amazon Redshift environments
  • Python or other scripting languages
  • Real-world experience with AWS cloud monitoring and alerting technologies such as Cloud Watch and Cloud Trail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills & customer service skills
  • Recommended Skills :

  • Experience working with the AWS ecosystem of tools and technologies
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology framework for product development
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, start-up like environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills; collaborator and data advocate
  • Experience in Ad-Tech industry a plus
  • Education Requirement :

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science,
  • Engineering, Math, or other related discipline.
