Job SummaryWith general guidance from the DepartmentManager, the Business Intelligence (BI) Developer II contributes to effortswithin the Department of Operations Research & Analytics (DORA) to advancethe organization’s use of data and information. Works in tandem with DORA’S BI Analysts andBI Advisors to accurately and efficiently create sustainable business value bytransforming raw data into actionable information for the end user. Inconjunction with partners in Information Services, collaborates on thecreation, deployment, and maintenance of one or more of the following areas:effective data structures (i.e. star schema facts and dimensions, cubes,views), ETL processes, BI infrastructure (i.e. SQL Server, Hadoop, Spark), datavisualization (i.e. Tableau), and/or analytic tools. Performs duties for data manipulation,transformation, and automation via programming using appropriate languages suchas SQL, C#, Python, and R. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customerservice standards of the MetroHealth System. Responsibilities Contributes to patient safety by supporting theSystem-wide programs and policies addressing a safe environment for patientsand the reporting of safety concerns to the appropriate individuals. 1. Contributesto rapid-cycle iterations to create, test, improve, and deploy analytic contentthat is driven by the strategic and tactical needs of internal business users. 2. Participates inevaluations of the current state of DORA and MetroHealth’s analytic capabilities,including helping to align current resource deployment with strategicpriorities, identifying critical success factors, and creating plans to addressgaps. 3. Assists in the design and execution ofstrategic initiatives that help the MetroHealth System move toward maturity onthe analytics continuum. 4. Aidsin the creation and deployment of extraction, transformation and load (ETL) proceduresthat reliably integrate diverse and isolated data systems into a central,enterprise data warehouse. 5. Worksto achieve the successful implementation of appropriate BI tools to create athriving analytic ecosystem across the MetroHealth System that supports timelyand accurate reporting, self-service analytics and data visualization. 6. Aidsin the development of procedures to efficiently automate administrative tasksrequired for the optimal function of critical data structures, includingquality assurance, data base tuning, etc. 7. Performsother functionally related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance,Operations Research or related field and 3+ Years of progressivedevelopment/analytical experience.In lieu of degree, 6+years of progressive development/analytical experience.Advanced knowledge of programming with SQL.Experience in one of the following languages:C#, Python, or R.Proficient with theMicrosoft BI stack (i.e. Visual Studio/SSDT/SSIS) including recent versions ofSQL Server.ExperienceapplyingETL best practices.Experience in SQLServer performance tuning techniques.Experience with Gitand/or Azure DevOps.Experience indesigning data warehouse structures. Preferred: 1+ years of experience with an ElectronicMedical Record (EMR) system, i.e. Epic, Cerner.1+ years of experience with one of thefollowing: Kronos, Infor/Lawson, EPSiKnowledge of the Agile development/managementmethodology.Knowledge of machine learning, data mining, andpredictive analytics.Experience with project management.Knowledge of BigData technologies (i.e. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Oozie).Knowledge of Cloud(i.e. Azure, AWS).Experience with WebServices (i.e. SOAP, Rest, WSDL).Knowledge ofContinuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.Experience withTableau.Knowledge of statistics, simulation and datamodeling. Physical Requirements:May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulateintermittently during the day.
