Senior Database AdministratorGDIT is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join a team responsible for maintaining and supporting the probabilistic matching infrastructure (InfoSphere MDM product) that supports identification of duplicates and other identity issues. This job is in support of the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) identity data repository.This position is 100% remoteResponsibilities:Take the initiative to resolve problems and ensure that InfoSphere MDM is running well with respect to the database.The DBA will support on-going technical and operational support in all aspects of supporting the MDM product and interfacing with the other DMDC Oracle DBAs.Work closely with the data quality team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data through assistance and execution of data quality scripts.Conduct configuration and maintenance of the database instances; configuration of database replication process; user account management; performance monitoring and tuning; service availability monitoring; space and resource management; refine and improve database performance; participate in planning and execution for Database recovery.Provide problem determination/analysis and isolate problems utilizing diagnostic and system management tools (i.e. system dumps and system/component traces, monitoring tools).Maintain and create system documentation and review system documentation composed by development teams.Control migration of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.Enforce and maintain database constraints to ensure integrity of the database; administer all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.Assist with impact analysis of changes made to the database objects; troubleshoot problems regarding the database, application and development tools.Modify database structures impacted by application modernization or reengineering releases and perform database conversions and migrations that support application developmentRequirements U.S. Citizenship and able to receive DMDC Position of TrustTypically a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical/scientific field or equivalent experiencePossess a CompTIA Security+ certification or be willing to get the certification soon after hireSome knowledge in the following areas is desirable:JEE, JDK1.8, Oracle 12c database, Angular, jsp, XML, log4j, JUnit, Apache commons, Spring MVC, Oracle Weblogic Server, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Linux/bash, PL/SQL.Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skillsMust be a good team playerMust possess a basic understanding of modern software design and development methodologies.Must possess good knowledge of relational database conceptsAbility to apply consistent quality and security standards.We are GDIT.
