At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Technical Architect supporting Indianapolis, you will be trusted to work support a large city-county wide managed application services program. This position works under the general guidance of the Program Manager, a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment, and requires strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.

The Technical Architect will oversee the design and implementation of city-county IT systems. You will be responsible for meeting with IT leaders to discuss client processes, designing the structure of application solutions, overseeing the project implementation, and measuring the performance of the new system. Additionally, the candidate for this position:

  • Meeting with IT managers to determine the city-county’s current and future needs.
  • Determining whether the current systems can be upgraded or if a new system needs to be installed.
  • Providing the city-county with design ideas and schematics.
  • Project managing the design and implementation of the system.
  • Meeting with the software developers to discuss the system software needs.
  • Troubleshooting systems issues as they arise.
  • Overseeing all the moving parts of the system integration.
  • Measuring the performance of the upgraded or newly installed system.
  • Training staff on system procedures.
  • Providing the company with post-installation feedback.
  • WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

    While telework will be an option for up to 4 days a week most weeks, there will be frequent customer site meetings. The selected applicant must be able to meet customer facility COVID requirements

  • Have the ability to handle demanding situations with clarity, focus and professionalism, and to respond quickly to quick turnaround taskers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technology with 5+ years of experience.
  • Ability to resolve issues with little oversight; ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and develop alternative solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics to management and other stakeholders
  • Supervisory or project management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently as well as interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to integrate information from multiple sources
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and strict attention to detail
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; Critical thinking and creative problem solving
  • Ability to understand and manage customer expectations and software implementation methodology
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives/deadlines autonomously and shift priorities as necessary.
