The Senior Product Owner is responsible for conveying product vision and roadmap to an agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing product backlog. The Senior Product Owner work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Data Use and Protection Engineering represents the intersection of cybersecurity, data analytics, software engineering, legal, risk, and compliance.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Product Owner maximizes value of product created by agile team. Liaises with stakeholders and the development team ensuring the right product is being built, in the right order, within budget and by the deadline. Serves as the agile team's primary contact for information, work prioritization, and decision-making. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

You will lead a team to develop principled data “Privacy by design” solutions based on guidance, operational processes, and infrastructure and automation tools that enable product and engineering teams to embed our data protection principles from the outset to meet growing compliance and user trust demands, without compromising speed and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a complex requirement management system
  • Prioritizing a complex and high volume product backlog and competing priorities
  • Supporting all SAFE agile ceremonies
  • Facilitating productive conversation that arrive at high value delivery
  • Proactively participating in pre-planning and planning sessions
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience
  • 4 or more years of agile experience in leading teams through complex solutions
  • Strategic thinking and business planning capabilities; organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience driving technology innovation in a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience soliciting and maturing requirements or user stories
  • Willingness to manage and prioritize diverse products
  • Experience with the SDLC
  • Excellent communication (written, presentation, and verbal) skills, leadership competencies, and high level of emotional intelligence
  • Experience in working in multi-team environment
  • Enthusiasm and motivation essential; a confident change-agent
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior insurance operations background
  • Technical documentation abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban development methodology
  • Working knowledge of Agile Project Management Tools
  • SAFE Product Owner, Scrum Master, or SAFE Program Consultant certification
  • Previous experience planning and managing large projects
  • Prior experience in the health solutions industry
  • Working experience with IT teams
  • Scheduled Weekly Hours
