Job Summary

The Solutions Architect is a member of the Business Applications Project Delivery team responsible for designing and implementing business solutions spanning multiple business areas and applications with a primary focus on Supply Chain in SAP. The Solution Architect guides users with the design of business procedures and understanding of processes and makes recommendations where applicable.

The Project Delivery team is responsible for converting logical designs into functional and technical specifications. These specifications will include system configuration, program enhancements, and testing requirements for the design. Members of the team will have the additional responsibility of working with business teams on implementing system designs. The Project Delivery team will have expertise in IT tools utilized to manage business processes.

The Solutions Architect works closely with the Business Consultant team on standards, strategy and solution recommendations that align with key business strategies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads and supports Supply Chain pursuits and Practice Development initiatives
  • Develops Architecture Specification deliverables that map customer business requirements into functional and technical solutions.
  • Designs solutions for approved emerging application technologies that prepare the company for the future.
  • Works with users and other IT team members to create functional requirements and converts requirements into functional specifications.
  • Converts functional specifications into technical specifications.
  • Configures applications to efficiently support those needs.
  • Maintains written documentation for Configuration Table Documents (CTDs).
  • Cross functional knowledge and ability to work with people from different disciplines
  • Collaborates with internal teams to determine enhanced functionality for the best customer’s experience.
  • Coordinates and oversees functional implementation activities.
  • Understands the customer's business problem, need, or opportunity and designs and documents a solution that completely and correctly addresses the business problem, need, or opportunity.
  • Facilitates design analysis with users to determine configuration for the user interface.
  • Provides the technical bridge between multiple data sources.
  • Guides users with the design of business procedures and understanding of processes.
  • Promotes and fosters collaboration between integrated process practitioners.
  • Helps resolve end users supply chain challenges.
  • Deep knowledge with integration with other business function outside of IBP.
  • Responsible for supporting and leading project tasks.
  • Identifies key drivers of a defined problem and proposes solutions.
  • Performs analysis and effective diagnosis of clients' issues.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Education and Experience Profile

  • Participation in all phases of at least 2 full-lifecycle SAP implementations.
  • Preferred experience with Supply Chain planning with hands-on exposure to SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP); experience in SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) and strong knowledge of SAP Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), SAP Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) functions, along with Demand Planning (DP) and Supply Network Planning (SNP).
  • Hands-on functional configuration and design experience.
  • SAP IBP and S/4 experience highly desired.
  • Deep knowledge with integration and other business function outside of SCM.
  • A minimum of 8 years of total business experience with a combination of experience in leading and directing IT solution delivery with direct interaction with business partners.
  • Test automation experience is helpful.
  • B.S. degree in a business or IT related field.
  • Required Skills

  • Collaboration with users in defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing, and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
  • Able to understand the current enterprise structure and design modification within the SCM framework in SAP.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding and awareness of latest trends in technologies.
  • Experience supporting/leading large scale, transformational enterprise business implementations or programs.
  • Versatility and a willingness to work within a change driven environment with enthusiasm.
  • Experience working with all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control.
  • Experience with process mapping.
  • Experience documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format.
  • Experience understanding, evaluating, and recommending changes to business processes.
  • Knowledge of CPG industry and business framework.
