Integrated Media Strategist (Open to Remote)

Position Summary

Accelerate business growth through an optimized paid media channel mix and budget across all customer touch-points at divisional and enterprise levels that grow Marketing Sales Contribution and ROI as measured by MMM. Oversee agency's day to day media planning to ensure execution excellence, strategy alignment across all lines of business media activations, and deliver the greatest ROAS to the company. Collaborate and consult across COEs and teams to ensure paid media plans are aligned to business goals and are fully integrated with non-paid media communication channels. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Essential Job Functions

  • Utilize media mix modeling and optimization tools (MMM/MMO) across all paid media channels, in partnership with the agency, to determine ad spend and drive the greatest return on investment for divisional/enterprise budgets
  • Utilize media mix scenario planning and readouts, in partnership with the agency, to identify duplication, gaps and other opportunities to drive competitive marketing investments and growth
  • Manage paid media account lines budgets and forecasts by division and enterprise on a period, quarterly and annual basis
  • Provide media budget forecasts/actuals to leadership and key stakeholders consistently/frequently
  • Manage day to day responsibilities of the development of media plans by the agency
  • Provide guidance/oversight of agency strategic and tactical media plans across enterprise to ensure alignment to Kroger strategy, business goals and customers
  • Provide guidance/oversight of division-specific nuances and activations performed by the agency
  • Integrate media communication and coordination across teams to reduce duplication and drive efficiencies
  • Provide and socialize reporting across teams and stakeholders consistently/frequently
  • Demonstrate strategic agility through the ability to pivot quickly to meet needs of the business
  • Thrive in the grey space, and make proactive decisions when there is not a record of success or historical precedence
  • Demonstrate critical thinking while keeping the customer at the center of all Kroger says and does
  • Develop media presentations to relevant stakeholders, leadership, teams, etc.
  • Maximize relationships with key contacts at agency, media suppliers and other industry contacts to maximize resources and available expertise
  • Demonstrate dedication to Kroger Marketing Vision, the principles of advertising, marketing and media
  • Participate in change management to grow the company's knowledge of advertising, marketing and media reducing friction, and to prime innovation to unlock short-term and long-term success

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in communication, marketing or advertising
  • 4+ years of media planning and buying experience
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Expert knowledge of paid media channels, media planning strategies and execution
  • Strong knowledge of TV, Radio, OOH, and digital media channels
  • Expert analytical and mathematical skills; ability to relate results to business goals/marketing objectives
  • Veteran knowledge of media planning systems and tools with ability to identify role in planning and media management
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • Any experience with media mix optimization, multi-channel attribution, and sales uplift analysis
  • Any retail experience
  • Any experience with national media planning
  • Any experience with addressable media channels
  • Education Level:  Bachelor's Required
