ABOUT FLUXABOUT THE JOB
You will be responsible for:
• Review applications and perform initial underwriting for cannabis and hemp industry accounts.
• Identifying and gathering relevant account information for new business and renewal policies.
• Evaluate, select, and price policies for assigned agencies to achieve underwriting objectives with a focus on new business.
• Generate competitive and comprehensive insurance proposals and work with internal sales team to leverage assets and identify how to obtain the business.
• Assess clients' current insurance placements for strengths and deficiencies.
• Develop and manage assigned agency relationships with producers and customers through visitations and regular customer contact.
• Issue endorsements, policy changes, and account renewals.
• Monitor production, hit ratios, renewal retention ratios, spread of risk, and other production and quality measures.
• Conduct negotiations with assigned agents.
• Act as a resource for others in the department and provide direction to underwriters and support staff as needed.
• Work cooperatively and productively with others.
• Able to handle stress and demands of job.
You will be a great fit if you have:
• At least 3 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in a Commercial Lines Underwriting role focused on P&C lines of coverage within a Wholesaler or MGA insurance brokerage firm.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as superior client service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong math and analytical skill with an emphasis on problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Demonstrated efficiency with computer systems and software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products and Adobe.
• Experience using and Agency Management System – Applied Systems (EPIC) preferred, but otherwise, the ability and willingness to learn.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree (Risk Management and Insurance Degree Preferred) High School Diploma only will be considered based on industry experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of Underwriting experience.
• Property and Casualty insurance experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
• Property and Casualty Insurance License required after 6 months of hire.
• Cannabis Training University Certification within 3 months of hire.
