SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative, medical secretarial and/or operational support duties for the OneCall Physician Access Call Center. Utilizes some judgement to interpret departmental policy to resolve routine to complex inquires or challenges. Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and HIPAA compliance when entering data and handling inbound and outbound calls. Effectively collaborates with all departments within the organization for optimal outcomes. Embraces and promotes the OneTeam culture. Actively participates in Continual Improvement within the department and across the organization. Reports to Access Center Manager and/or their assistant.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Answer all inbound calls and route appropriately utilizing scripting and warm transfers

*Provide support to team members as needed

*Accurately and efficiently enter or update all demographics and incoming referrals to sub-specialty departments

*Reach out to PCP's via phone and/or fax to answer routine to complex questions regarding referrals

*May coordinate multiple appointment requests with sub-specialty department representatives

*Participate in and/or facilitate daily huddles

*May represent OneCall on daily TTT leadership calls

*May participate in meetings and projects directed toward departmental growth and improvement

*May participate in DMS preparation including daily updates

*Follow shift-specific tasks

*May participate in the training of new team members

Maintains flexibility congruent to a growing department

*Responsible for attending monthly staff meetings (every other in-person/others call-in participation)

*Responsible for punching in and out each day and notifying management if there is a variation

*Contributes to Continual Improvement

*Follow HIPAA and HIM rules and guidelines when handling patient information

*Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all members of the health care team. Function as a member of the office team and ensure appropriate cross-coverage when necessary. Encourage team members to adhere to professional standards and to expand competencies

*Demonstrates knowledge of the age-related differences and needs of patients in appropriate, specific populations from neonate through adolescence and applies them to practice. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families

High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school is required.

Minimum of 6 months experience as a receptionist in a Physician Office or equivalent.

Must be able to type 70 wpm or greater with minimal errors
