PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Provides leadership for managing, directing, analyzing, facilitating, implementing, and enhancing the human resource, compliance, EEO, and affirmative action functions for the assigned Retail Division(s). 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Provides leadership to Retail Division managers, supervisors, controllers and other Retail Division employees involved in the human resources function.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Oversees the development, implementation, and management of employment processes and record retention practices. Employment processes may include, but not limited to job descriptions, candidate networking, sourcing, recruiting, screening, and referral of qualified candidates. Responsible for the oversight and management of the I-9 and E-Verify compliance.

Oversees daily administration, communication, and compliance for the retirement plans, benefit plans and wellness programs in conjunction with GROWMARK’s Benefits area.

Serves as the primary contact for retail division(s) in the benefits area.

Provides consultation, coaching, and counseling to supervisors regarding employee relations programs, including workplace and employee issues, job performance, and monitoring the workplace environment. 


Implements, facilitates, and maintains retail division performance management, salary administration, job analysis, and paid time-off program in conjunction with GROWMARK’s Compensation area.

Assists the retail division Controllers with compliant payroll services and the Lawson HRIS utilization for retail division(s) in conjunction with GROWMARK’s Payroll areas.

Responsible for the following compliance functions with direction from the Director of Compliance & EE Relations and in coordination with the EEO & Affirmative Action Manager:
• Collaborates on compliance, EEO, and Affirmative Action issues and investigations as required.
• Serves as the “resource person” in assisting Retail Division(s) in compliance with governmental regulations, standards of conduct and privacy, GROWMARK policies, and ethical issues. 
• Provides advice, coaching, counseling, and training to Retail Division managers, supervisors, and employees on compliance, EEO, Affirmative Action, privacy, GROWMARK policies, and ethics subjects.
• Generates regular updates regarding training, compliance breaches, EEO and Affirmative Action issues, and the status of on-going compliance reviews.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Collaborates with the University Relations area to ensure internship and new college graduate recruiting needs for the retail division(s) are met by providing direct leadership in the areas of sourcing, recruiting, screening, referring, and hiring of qualified candidates.

In conjunction with the Retail Division Manager(s) and Senior Manager, Human Resources / Employment Manager, develops, analyzes, and implements retail division succession planning strategies.

Assists with appropriate planning and budgeting inputs for areas relating to human resources and the position needs.

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of human resources and/or business leadership experience.

Normally requires a professional human resources certification or the ability to obtain one within three years of employment to demonstrate advanced knowledge in human resources.

Successful re-certification is required in accordance with the certification thereafter.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. 

Must have the ability to travel independently, frequently, and overnight when necessary to company/corporate/regional meetings, university/college locations, training sessions, and recruiting events.

Ability to maintain absolute professional confidentiality and privacy at all times.

Ability to load, transport, unload, set-up, and take down career/job fair displays.

Frequently required to lift and move 21 – 50 lbs.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
