Spring 2022 Development Intern Position


Description

RAINN is seeking a qualified intern to work within and contribute to the Development team. The position will be part-time or full-time and is unpaid. Academic credit can be arranged. The internship spans a range of responsibilities in the Development department including maintaining records in the donor database, contributing to research projects, and assisting in the donor cultivation and engagement process.

Undergraduate or Graduate students with an emphasis in their studies on English, Communications, Public Relations, Social Work, Gender Studies, Political Science, or Public and/or Non-profit Administration are encouraged to apply. However, all areas of studies are welcome.

The position will start on Monday, January 24, 2022 and end on Friday, April 22, 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this internship will be remote and we will interview and on-board for a virtual internship.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft profiles of prospective and current donors
  • Help maintain and update the donor database and gift records
  • Assist in organizing day-to-day communications with individual, foundation, and corporate donors
  • Support proposal writing efforts and research new opportunities for funding
  • Assist in event planning and coordination
  • Assist in the expansion of the volunteer fundraiser program
  • Research projects, prospects, and initiatives
  • Compile donor materials to support fundraising efforts

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience working with databases a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive issues and information
  • An understanding of RAINN's programs and interest in its mission
