Your Opportunity
The Talent Systems Manager is responsible for the overall system management and optimization of Smithfield’s talent management system components and/or modules. This position will be responsible for talent management system projects for the Talent Development and Acquisition departments, gather and document requirements, serve as a system administrator, maintain subject matter expert (SME) knowledge of various assigned applications, drive process improvements, deliver reports and achieve team goals. This position will support our People Programs, Recruiting, Talent Management and Total Rewards.
This position is avialable for remote work - there will be travel required a minimum of 25% (1 week a month) to the Headquarter Office in Smithfield, VA.
Core Responsibilities
Executes system strategies and process that cover all domains of the current talent management systems and process including Performance, Talent Assessment, Succession Planning, Learning, Development and Recruiting. Leverage subject matter expertise in HCM functions to advise on HR data and technology-related matters across the organization. Manages Talent Management related systems and applications: ensures systems are accurately configured to meet business requirements. Perform content loading, set-up, testing and trouble shooting in order to ensure smooth integration. Support all upgrades, new releases and configuration change processes for system enhancements. Manages Talent Technology projects: schedules intake meetings to document business requirements, creates and maintains project plans with standard project management methodologies, adheres to project plan timelines, communicates risk to project plan timelines to appropriate stakeholders, ensures appropriate groups are informed of their involvement of various projects throughout the project lifecycle. Creates documentation as needed to support enhanced or new processes. Manages the overall user experience that are a result of changes or enhancements, new vendor provided features or updates to systems. Understands downstream impacts to these changes and communicates them to affected parties using appropriate change management techniques. Manages and monitors talent management systems’ performance and work closely with our support partners to optimize the performance of the systems. Maintains, monitors, and supports all talent management system integrations to meet business requirements. Responsible for maintaining data accuracy and integrity within system through regular review and audit of data Conducts formal and informal training sessions to employees and functional users regarding system features and functionality. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of progressive experience in HRIS, information systems, database management or related field, required. Minimum of 2+ years of experience leading and developing high performing teams in a rapidly changing environment. Knowledge of various Human Resources functions such as Performance Management, Learning, Talent Acquisition and Organizational Planning. Previous HCM or Talent Management systems experience, required Ability to support multiple concurrent projects that cross functional areas and systems, balance priorities, facilitate project planning meetings, meet tight deadlines and escalate effectively as necessary in order to meet project timelines to manage and mitigate project risks required Deep working knowledge in the effective technical support of HCM applications. Experience across multiple HCM modules, including Onboarding, Recruiting, Talent Management and Learning, preferred. Excellent analytical and technical skills including expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and HRIS. Strong project management skills to effectively balance competing priorities during project lifecycles Ability to develop positive working relationships with both internal and external vendors and customers. Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides leadership and guidance to team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
