We have an opportunity for an Analyst with extensive knowledge of health insurance and our data analytic tools to function in a Data Curator role. You will have direct access to client data as you work with a team of Business Analysts and Data Engineers to standardize processes, files, and reports needed to facilitate UHG's support to Federal and State Regulatory customers.

This is a complex, fast-paced, matrixed environment with a lot of moving parts. The challenge is in developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. You’ll be expected to interpret and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources and use it to tell a meaningful story.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design and implementation of the Enterprise Data Catalog
  • Establishes and monitors standardize metrics and key performance indicators
  • Develops procedures and processes to certify data quality
  • Presents analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning
  • Supports short and long term operational / strategic business activities through analysis
  • Develops training and advocacy plans to promote adoption and usage of the Enterprise Data Catalog model
  • Drives process improvement to enhance data management practices
  • Identifies gaps and provides solutions
  • Reviews and provides constructive feedback on the work of others
  • Supports, embraces, and promotes the United corporate culture
  • Can adapt and react professionally as the point of escalation

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience performing data analytics and writing complex SQL queries
  • 2+ years of experience gathering requirements from the client/business and documenting results
  • 2+ years of experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation of business processes
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Experience with presentation and meeting facilitation
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Workfront, Alation, SAS, Teradata Vantage Analyst, Python and/or MicroStrategy
  • Experience working with data in a health insurance environment
