Collaborate with business partners from all levels to analyze business objectives and translate to functional requirements for IT to determine the technical solution. Work as liaison between the business partners and IT to ensure availability, effectiveness of business requests while leveraging current technology to address business strategies and resolve operational needs. Perform analysis and daily support of the policy rating and issuance system to determine proper workflow and function with the business requirements, as well as compliance with state filings. Continually anticipate and take action to meet end-user needs while looking for ways to increase efficiency. Maintain a business focus and strategy to participate and facilitate small to large projects.Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as liaison between business partners and IT team, while advocating for business objectives. Facilitate and lead the requirement elicitation process and meetings.Research and resolve complex problems to assist in process improvement.Analyze and articulate business requirements to translate them into functional requirements.Translate business requirements to create and execute viable user acceptance test cases with traceability.Organize information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and present information in a manner that business partners can review to make informed decisions.Apply expertise to work with end-users to educate and resolve workflow problems.Develop user guides, process documentation and reference materials for business end users.Ensure effective communication of the initiatives, goals, requirements, specifications, expectations and progress between all parties for maintenance releases and projects.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree.Minimum of 3-5 years experience as Business Analyst.Ability to practically prioritize and execute tasks independently in a high paced, agile environment.Excellent leadership and project management skills.Strategic, conceptual decision making skills under pressure.Ability to think analytically and problem solve.Innovative, organized and motivated.Experience gathering requirements, functional design and documenting business processes.Demonstrated ability to analyze, optimize and document complex business processes.Strong written and oral communication skills.Responds strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines.Working knowledge of insurance and policy management systems is preferred.Please note: Markel has a phased approach for re-entry into our buildings that is designed to balance the ongoing health, safety, and well-being of our employees with operational considerations and regulatory/ governmental requirements and recommendations. Effective 6/1/21 we will implement a return to work strategy that allows for three days in the office every other week.
