The Insurance Claims Manager of Heavy Equipment will lead the execution of insurance claims and other recoveries on complex equipment and extended scope, domestic and international Power Plant projects.

Essential Responsibilities
Insurance Claims Manager of Heavy Equipment will be an insurance expert in formulating, submitting, documenting, and resolving insurance claims for the Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Power Plant Equipment and Aeroderivative Power Equipment Businesses. In this role, you will:
Lead insurance claim recovery efforts from start to finish globally, working with the Contract Management and Project Management teams Work with Heavy Duty Gas Turbine and Aero Global and Corporate teams to implement and manage claims recovery framework, including timely and accurate Develop and implement standard claims management strategies and processes Evaluate, Communicate and work directly with insurance adjustors and insurance companies, including drafting claim correspondence and providing documentation Research and author insurance claims settlement agreements for GE’s benefit Manage and drive insurance claim and recovery execution in accordance with insurance policies, GE insurance claim procedures, and in conjunction with insurance personnel. Research, pursue, negotiate, and obtain insurance claim recoveries Track insurance recovery for the Heavy Duty Gas Turbine and Aero Global team Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of database to track and drive insurance recovery Verify contractually required insurance policies are in place for assigned projects Work closely with Project Managers and Contract Managers to ensure timely, complete, and appropriate submission and documentation of insurance claims Draft letters, replies and notifications to insurance companies to complete claims Provide contractual analysis and interpretation on project insurance issues and drive to successful resolution and closure Develop and conduct insurance claim best practice training to Contract and Project Managers Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Minimum 10 years experience involving industrial or heavy duty equipment insurance claim adjusting and resolution Expert knowledge of equipment insurance claims process and strategies to recover multimillion dollar claims Extensive experience with insurance policy language and interpretation, including Erection All Risk, Construction All Risk, All Risk Builder’s Risk, and Ocean Marine / Inland Transit policies Ability to travel to Schenectady, NY up to 10% Desired Characteristics
Ability to expertly communicate in English Experience solving large claims working with insurance adjustors and insurance companies Ability to work in remotely located cross-functional teams Proven track record of executing and recovering insurance claims Insurance industry experience at insurer, broker, adjusting firm, or in risk management role Strong presentation and negotiation skills Ability to handle many complex issues concurrently Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong understanding of logistics and large equipment insurance contract terms and conditions Project management experience Personal computer and software experience including preparation of complex presentations including Microsoft and Powerpoint 15 plus years insurance claims management experience Sense of urgency and customer-focused responsiveness Experience in global insurance claims outside of North America Ability to travel to US, Europe, Asia and Latin America project meetings as required
