  • The Group Vice President (GVP), Cardiovascular Operations is responsible for leading CV operations, strategy and growth for the SCA enterprise. This role will establish comprehensive goals for performance and growth and serve as a key member of SCA’s senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The GVP will partner and align with enterprise functions, including Clinical, Development, Sales, Finance, Legal, Human Resources and other support service functions.

    The successful candidate is responsible for the results of the CV Operating Group performance and building of a strong operations team including, but not limited to:

    Achieving Excellence in SCA’s Four Company Vitals

  • Driving clinical quality outcomes through partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer and respective clinical team, Chief Medical Officer, and SCA Medical Executive Board
  • Developing and executing plans to ensure that the facilities and field support teams foster environments achieving teammate engagement scores that are the best place to work in America.
  • Collaborate with support service team to ensure outstanding physician engagement through daily interactions and communications.
  • Consistently grow same site EBITDA by at least 4%: Growing earnings in same stores annually by a minimum of 4% through leading profitable top-line growth initiatives, developing new partnerships, and effectively managing expenses, and pulling through CDO volume in markets where applicable
  • Act as a strategic business partner with COO, President of Development and SVP of Payer Engagement and their leaders assigned to this Group to transform the Group’s position across key markets to achieve and sustain a competitive advantage.
  • Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic vision for CV service line in conjunction with Development, Sales, Field Operations leadership, and Support Service teams and own execution of that vision: Partner with the local market teams, strategy, and payer engagement to create and drive a strong value proposition through physician groups, health systems and health plan relationshipsWork with CV dedicated team, support services team, CV Physician Leader, and SCA leadership team to adapt to market dynamics to execute on M&A opportunities
  • Lead the business through strong leadership practices and ensure operational and clinical service excellence to enhance SCA and OptumCare’s brand and market share and achieve objectives for the CV function.Clinical Quality: ensure development and implementation of a CV clinical operating model, clinical policies and highly reliable processes to achieve the highest clinical quality standard for patient careP&L Control/Management: have overall control of organizational and financial planning, staffing, budgeting, expense control, and achieve financial goals, implementing changes to improve processes and best practicesOperational Performance: cultivate and grow current operations and oversee all activities through multiple levels including director and vice president level leaders who have overall responsibility for assigned function in target geographies across the enterprise, focusing on top-line and bottom-line growth.Consultative, solutions-oriented “architect” who can identify needs, and coordinate partners, assets, expertise and focus to establish and evolve critical relationships with strategic partners (physicians, health systems, payers, etc.).Evolve the business through partnership and impeccable execution.Drive aggressive benchmarking of operational and clinical processes, ensuring optimal efficiency, clinical quality and performance.Execute and foster mission and values-oriented decision making.
  • Work with COO and Finance Operations leaders to achieve operational excellence driving standardization across the field operations teams in weekly and monthly operating reports, continuously improve communications to partners through standard partnership meeting materials, weekly communications, and other communications
  • Oversee new business development activities to identify and assess strategic expansion opportunities:Oversee same site facility growthWork with development and others to identify opportunities for new expansion, including:De novo ASC’s or hybrid ASC/OBL’sAcquisitions of existing facilitiesJoint-venture relationships with health systems or other strategic partnersContinue to foster existing physician relationships as well as cultivate new relationships, partnerships and ventures that will increase SCA’s market share.
  • Play a key role in enterprise leadership, creating, implementing and optimizing SCA and OptumCare’s growth and operating strategies for enterprise-wide initiatives, including piloting new business models that position the company for long-term success. Synthesize changing market trends and gaps in capabilities.Constant innovation around continuous improvement in clinical and operating models.Build brand and brand ambassadors both within the enterprise, and in the broader SCA, OptumCare community of stakeholders and partners.Drive focus on service and “customer” satisfaction, including patients, physicians, teammates, and partners.   • Facilitate management and team leadership maintaining a professional, consultative relationship between all teammates in the field and appropriate management functions, connecting all teams and departments to best serve the CV patients and physicians, driving value to our partnerships, and achieving scale:Ensure the business objectives that promote SCA’s mission and vision are clearly communicated to ensure alignment and buy-in from VPs, Directors, facilities’ staff, and support services who own or coordinate patient care and services.Build and maintain a high-performing and high-accountability team of knowledgeable and skilled leaders who function on the leading edge, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.Champion and build trust among patients, physicians, and teammates; foster an open environment for sharing ideas and best practices.Promote a culture of community and continuous improvement and innovative thinking
  • Lead a talent development process through partnership with Human Resource business partner and team to attract talent into the facilities and field operations teams; set vision and drive execution for talent development programs for CEOs, Clinical Leaders, and Business Office Leaders; reimagine recruitment, onboarding, and training for field operations leaders
  • Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Position requires in-depth knowledge of the CV service line function, outpatient clinical, operational and growth strategies, as well as be in tune with external industry or regulatory factors affecting service line expansion and effectiveness
  • GM/ P&L Experience - 10 to 15 years in multi-unit or multi-geography management capacity leading CV service line, clinical and business operations; experience in partnerships with physicians and health systems, with C-suite interaction.
  • High Growth & Integration – Impact operating executive; ability to anticipate market changes and drive performance improvement while simultaneously being attentive to financial performance through top and bottom-line revenue and earnings growth.
