Lands' End is hiring an Applications Delivery Manager - Technical Delivery for its business.landsend.com website which is a high-performing B2B e-commerce platform and ecosystem running on the SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris application. Over the next 18 months Lands' End plans to migrate the existing on-location solution to SAP commerce cloud and to further extend the features on the platform to support our growing B2B business.

As the Applications Delivery Manager - Technical Delivery, you will lead a world-class team of experienced and customer-obsessed software engineers in the design, development, delivery and support of next-generation B2B ecommerce systems. In this role, you will lead the migration effort to SAP commerce cloud, and you will have the opportunity to significantly influence e-commerce strategy, project capability roadmaps and execution plans.

Our existing B2B ecommerce platform is built for high-availability and high-volume performance on an SAP Hybris on-location platform using responsive Angular/CSS/HTML5 front end. This e-commerce engine integrates with backend order fulfillment applications running on Salesforce. You will work with cross functional project teams in the planning and execution of e-Commerce projects within an agile development methodology.

This role can be fully remote with some planned trips to our Dodgeville Wisconsin corporate office for critical corporate or project events and reports to the IT Manager of Application Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and work assignments to a distributed team of software engineers comprised of Lands’ End Employees, and on-shore / off-shore contractors.
  • Oversee delivery of engineering solutions and ensure solutions are solving the intended business problems by meeting business requirements and project success criteria.
  • Ensure technical solutions are solving the intended business problems by meeting business requirements and project success criteria.
  • Function as a solution architect within projects including leading the SAP commerce cloud migration project
  • Lead the solution design of projects, providing a baseline set of design artifacts for use by developer and engineers during construction.
  • Be an effective communicator within your team and cross functional partners.
  • Ensure all viable options are objectively considered and appropriately balances the business needs, technical architecture and project constraints.
  • Ensure all solutions drive simplification and standardization through the effective use of design patterns and reuse of technology.
  • Design solutions that effectively meet the performance, extensibility, integration, capacity and accessibility needs of applications.
  • Coach and develop top engineering talent.
  • Assist in providing “Level of Effort” estimates and impact assessments for the technical portion of emerging e-commerce projects. 
  • Ensure technical solutions are in alignment with Lands’ End’s architecture and security principles, patterns, standards and controls.
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Manage onsite/offshore support team which does the operational activities

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience working in SAP/Hybris application preferably SAP cloud commerce.
  • At least 10 years of work experience in IT, including experience in software component design and development within a J2EE development stack.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing technology teams. Must have managed software teams producing web-based consumer facing systems.
  • Experience having successfully led software development teams in an agile team environment. Thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. 
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate with and persuade decision makers.
  • Experience leading offshore teams including ability to effectively communicate complex concepts with people of diverse backgrounds and expertise.
  • Experience creating and supporting large-scale, business-critical systems, high-availability systems and high-performance systems. 
  • Experience with Release Management, Source Control and Deployment concepts and technologies such as ANT, SFDC Metadata API, Jenkins, SVN, GIT/Stash, Bamboo, Ansible.
  • Familiarity with web performance optimization techniques such as caching frameworks (like eHCache, Redis, memcache), CDNs/edge servers and Front-End Optimization.
  • Familiarity with Development technologies such as Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, jQuery, Angular and Tag Management.
  • Familiarity with commercial search/index engines such as Oracle Endeca, Apache Solr or similar.
  • Familiarity of web analytics such as Adobe, Google Analytics or Omniture.
  • Familiarity of development collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence or similar.
  • Familiarity of security concepts such as single sign-on, secure coding methods and data security.
  • Ability to adapt to change and be self-directed.
