The Purchasing Supervisor will work closely with Product Planning Lead(s), Product Strategy Lead(s) and provide leadership to work in close liaison with various supply sources (i.e., hubs, suppliers, branches). The position is responsible for ensuring the Purchasing Team follows company policies and procedures for timely order processing, regulatory compliance, and inventory management.Key skills and Abilities include:Proficiency with computers intermediate to advanced level utilizing Microsoft applications and ERP order entry systemsAbility to work independently: self-motivated and self-ledExperience in the wholesale and/or retail agronomy industryAbility to implement efficient procedures and processesWillingness and ability to be a constructive agent of changeAbility to plan and organizeStrong team orientationStrong analytical skillsWillingness to travelKey Personal Attributes Include:Strengths in teamwork and the ability to support and/or lead a team to meet changing business priorities and needsGood interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and ability to establish relationships and build trust and respect with team members and key internal and external stakeholdersDependability with strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail, along with the ability to prioritize multiple assignmentsSpecific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:Collaborate with Product Planning Lead(s), Product Strategy Lead(s), and Operations Lead(s) in developing and executing a product supply planLead daily procurement of product from ordering through product staging in support of desired customer service level, working capital, and operational efficiency metricsEnsure a high degree of communication with Product Planning Leads, Product Strategy Leads, Facility Operations Teams Purchasing Team, Suppliers, and Purchasing ManagerSupervises purchasing activities for all assigned direct and indirect reports to ensure effective and efficient product sourcing.Monitor, train and enforce purchasing policies and processesEnsure timely processing of orders and order status is updatedEnsures all purchasing and inventory inquiries are responded to in a timely, accurate, and appropriate mannerMonitor the resolution of pricing discrepanciesOversees communication flow, record maintenance, and reports utilized by the Purchasing Team, evaluating the need for improvements in processes and/or systems usedLeads in modeling desired safety-minded awareness, behaviors, and practicesPerform all other duties as assigned in a professional and efficient mannerRequirements:At least 5 years of supply chain experience, preferable in the purchasing area (i.e.-inventory or throughput management involving ordering, forecasting, warehousing, logistics, etc.)Preferred- Associates or Bachelor degree in business or supply chain disciplineCompensation and Benefits:Competitive annual salary (to be determined based on experience and other factors)Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, Employee Assistance Program, vacation, sick time, life insurance, + more); Pension Plan, 401k match up to 3%Drug-Free WorkplaceIf you are a current Wilbur-Ellis employee, please notify your manager prior to applying for this position.
