  • The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Full Stack Engineer with a desire to join a team delivering impactful solutions. We’re focused on helping utility companies visualize and make use of the data available for making better and more informed decisions. 

    We’re looking for people who have a passion for writing great code, developing servers, and working with digital technologies to help streamline decisions.     Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:’

  • Participate in the development process from definition to deployment.
  • Develop cutting-edge technologies to improve Xylem’s software offering.
  • Building servers and services using Spring / Spring Boot or similar tools
  • Developing compelling web pages using HTML/CSS/Javascript and frameworks such as Bootstrap, JQuery, Angular or React
  • Working with SQL and no-sql database environments
  • Maintain and improving both on-premise and cloud-based applications, reducing costs and streamlining efficiency.
  • Engineer code that is standardized, efficient standard and well documented.
  • Take on challenging tasks as needed with an eagerness to develop skills in new areas.
  • Bring to the job an excitement and work ethic that sets a leading example for others.
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
  • Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • 8 years minimum of Front-End, Middle-Tier and Back-End development in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to develop applications in start-up and large scale, high performance environments.
  • Experience with Spring and Spring Boot or similar tools.
  • Experience with one or more web frameworks (eg, Angular, React, Vue)
  • Experience with a variety of DB technologies
  • Experience working with REST, SOAP, and creating web services.
  • Knowledge of tools such as JAXB, Jackson, and GSON.
  • BS or greater in Computer Science or related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with designing and deploying RDBMS and noSql datastores.
  • Experience designing and deploying middleware services and restful APIs.
  • Experience with ETL technologies such as Spark or Kafka.
  • Cloud exposure, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with Agile methodology for building software.
