  • Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of property claims that are of moderate level complexity ( Example:  Wind, hail, and water damages)
  • Conduct claims investigation process, assess the facts surrounding the loss, arrange inspection experts, and third parties
  • Review and negotiate loss settlements, determine coverage, appropriate method of inspection and/or claim decision based on the review of facts, and deliver resolution
  • Assign estimates and proper vendors
  • Establish and maintain suitable reserves
  • Partner with internal departments, vendors, and defense counsel, throughout the claim process
  • Promote positive professional relationships while expediting claims and adhering to the fair claims’ settlement practices
  • Draft professional written correspondence regarding various aspects of the claim
  • Work within multiple estimating, tracking, and workflow systems
  • Understand and comply with insurance regulations, statutes, and case law accordingly
  • Ensure and conclude claims in compliance with state/federal regulations and requirements, provisions of policy contracts, and company standards 
  • Maintain continuing education (CE) courses for required state licensing 

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years' property claims handling experience and/or  Relevant job experience will be considered  ( Example:  Construction, Estimating, Water mitigation, and all Customer service positions)
  • Currently hold an active ( Texas ) adjuster license or obtain following date of hire (American National will incur all fees associated / No out of pocket expenses)
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Property claims handling experience and/or  Relevant job experience will be considered  ( Example:  Construction, Estimating, Water mitigation, and all Customer service positions)
  • Four (4) year completed degree in related field (Criminal Justice, Insurance and Risk Management, Business, Communications)
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate or alike estimating programs
  • Understanding of statutes, case laws, and policy contracts
  • Effective and organized multi-tasker, with the ability to focus when items require your attention for review
  • Comfortable managing difficult conversations with ease and confidence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion to provide the highest quality of customer service
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Ability to effectively manage time and provide thorough follow-up
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Ability to navigate various computer programs simultaneously (Microsoft Office and internal systems)
