Job Description

An employer is looking for a Solution Sales Engineer to join their team. This position can sit anywhere from Maine down to Florida and from Louisiana to Florida - will involve 40% travel. This person will be working with relay consultants in the region - customer base is industrial, heavy utility, data center, hospitals etc. This person does the bid, specifications, and quote - they sell relays and will identify the system data, hardware, or software needed to meet clients needs. This person will need to be a very technical engineer with a sales personality. Need to be able to carry on a conversation and be the expert in the room in regards to selling solutions for substation automation, distributed generation and communications/networking. This person works directly with the Business Development Managers who will bring in the business and then this person comes into the process when it becomes technical. They will present the options to the customers and will bring it back to the team with requests. They will create bids and technical reviews, and work with BDS team.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electro-mechanical, etc.

5+ years of relevant experience (experience in engineering specific to controls and relays, automation, distribution)

PLC/HMI experience

Protection controls/relay experience

Communication protocols - IEC61850, DNP3.0 for ex.

Knowledgeable of solutions for renewable energy applications related to control and monitoring, wind, solar, hydro, etc.

Ability to understand project financials and create quotes

Interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers

Ability to travel up to 40% to customer sites to meet clients and do job site walks

Desired Skills

Masters degree

Experience specifically related to electrical power monitoring/metering
