The Specialist, Cause Marketing & Sponsorship is a member of the Corporate Development team. The focus of the role is to raise funds for the organization via the solicitation, management and implementation of strategic business relationships with Susan G. Komen national sponsorships and/or cause marketing programs. Candidate must effectively manage program objectives, stewardship and partnership strategy. Work under the direction of the Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships to help ensure that the strategic initiatives and business objectives of both Susan G. Komen and its partners are successfully achieved.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary objective of the Specialist, Cause Marketing & Sponsorship position is to support Susan G. Komen in achieving our overall Vision and Mission by:

Supporting the overall brand strategy of the organization, developing partnerships and programs that further the organization’s mission and brand reputation.

Generating funds for the organization through strategic account management including renewals and upsell of existing partnerships generating up to approximately $100,000 each. 

Independently managing assigned corporate partners and assist in the management of a portfolio of existing national corporate partners that conduct cause related marketing programs benefiting Susan G. Komen. Partnership management includes preparing agendas and materials for partner meetings, producing impact reports, leading partnership renewal and growth conversations.

Assisting with regular financial forecasting and reporting for partner performance including maintaining up to date information in Salesforce for all activities and account management tasks to use in weekly status reports and reviewing and analysis of partner sales and performance reports.

Serving as a liaison with other Komen departments for partnership / program implementation and ideation.

Submitting Letters of Agreement information to legal for contract development and assist in the negotiation of program structure, marketing deliverables and guaranteed minimum donations. Ensure adherence to LOA after contract execution.

Serve as back up in asset calendar coordination, supporting partner acknowledgments on komen.org and other communication.

All other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

Solid communications and writing skills. 

Organizational and project management skills

Ability to create spreadsheets including formulas and creation of reports from applicable database. 

Event or program management experience.

Work Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience in business, marketing, public relations, communications, non-profit or equivalent. Internships or experience in related areas, or extensive experience in support of partner programs, sponsor relations, or event planning/implementation.

Education: BS or BA degree in business, marketing, communications or related field required.

Preferred experience includes: 

Non-profit management experience with an understanding of the non-profit environment guidelines/standards related to corporate programs, contributions, and individual donations.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

This position requires 5% travel out of town.
