The Design Assurance team supports Zebra's promise of quality to our customers and will lead the success of ensuring products end-to-end reliability and quality operation of the Solution SW Service. This position requires the skills associated with a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE). The SRE will be encouraged to provide insight and mentorship to seek Solution Software issues present in Solutions SW Quality findings and gaps. Responsibilities

* Consult in the design of Health monitoring defining critical end-to-end telemetry that SW Quality has recognized as a current gap.
* Define metrics that lead to identifying (SLI). (Convert a series of SLIs to an SLO for the Customer Service Dashboard).
* Provide insight to aspects of the customer journey. Develop currently missing criteria for critical aspects of robust resilient technology such as authentication, licensing etc. Define critical metrics around these customer journey elements.
* Provide insight as to how to assess end-to-end Quality and Reliability of Micro-Services Architecture SW.
* Provide mentorship to integrate Business Units under a consistent framework for the Development, Test and Reporting processes, that is heavily passionate about IT and business operations.
* Establish elements of a Solution SW or SW as a Service Release Process that focuses on Customer Quality.
* Establish a methodology for the automation of the above Solution SW Release Process included release gating criteria. Develop Automation for scalability of Rapid Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) releases
* Use statistical methods to craft reliability and verification of end-to-end SW services capability and robustness, as well as SLO specification compliance.
* Analyze Disaster Recovery plans to promote immediate or quick resolution of inadvertent outages.
* Communicate proactively with partners. Formally present work product outcomes and risk analysis to project team and management.
* Makes recommendations for design changes for improved reliability, by utilization of industry standard methodologies approach.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree required
* 12+ years of Engineering or related experience required
* SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) experience required

Preferred Qualifications

* Advanced Degree in a related field is preferred
* Design for Six Sigma, Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification, P. Eng. or sophisticated certification a plus
* Sophisticated knowledge, skill, and problem-solving ability on personal computer-based systems
* Up to date Mathematics or Statistical methods and compound problem solving analysis tools and techniques
* Effective verbal and written communication skills; detailed and numbers oriented
* Experience in supervising infrastructure application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.
* Some experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl or other related languages
* Knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring tools
* Proficiency with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment implementation expertise.
* Experience analyzing large-scale distributed systems.
* Experience leading Infrastructure via Solution SW tools. (i.e., Dynatrace or equivalent).
* A passion for automation with innovative techniques to eliminate manual efforts whenever possible
* Familiar understanding of DevOps concepts and standard methodologies.
* Sophisticated familiarity with Micro Services Architecture preferred
* Strong history in defining and developing Service Level Objectives from Service Level Indicators.
