Job Description Become part of a team that supports a large Enterprise with its critical UNIX Server environment. We utilize multiple technologies to deliver services, including Virtualization, Cloud, Engineered Systems to BAE Systems, Inc. and its customers.This position is a Tier 3 Sr. UNIX Administrator position. The position requires someone who can handle the design of enterprise level solutions and address problem resolution in a large enterprise environment. Activities will include systems design and maintenance, system alert response and communication with users and other technical staff to provide timely resolution in a dynamic environment. Systems Engineering Activities Research and identify new solutions technologies that will help meet the goals of System Maintenance Activities Work closely with remote team members to ensure proper monitoring/support. Work incidents and service requests submitted through a ticketing system. Interact with level 2 support, and also other teams to meet customer requests and deadlines.Troubleshooting advanced technical problems to identify root cause and solutions to the problemis required. Working knowledge and hands on solutions for Solaris and Linux, preferably Red Hat and/or Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle SPARC based systems including Oracle Engineered Systems (ExaData, ZFS, PCA and components)Required Education, Experience, & Skills Hands on experience with Solaris (9-11) and SPARC based hardware (M Series, T Series)Oracle Engineered Systems Administration aka ExaData, ZFS, PCA Component experienceExperience in O/S installation, Software and Patch managementAble to debug/troubleshoot hardware issuesMust have knowledge on architectural concept regarding console servers for Linux or Solaris (SPARC)Familiar with the configuration and maintenance of server and network hardware and peripherals Hands-on experience of system management, system setup and managing Linux or Solaris based servers as well as configuring themAble to develop and maintain installation and configuration proceduresInstall and configure systems which support infrastructure, hardwarePerform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs etc.Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks.
