Formerly part of Grand Canyon University (GCU), GCE still supports and works closely with GCU. GCE designs and develops educational programs for GCU and other traditional campus institutions, as well as online partner institutions at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.While this position is a Phoenix, AZ based role, we are in an indefinitely remote status. Grand Canyon Education is seeking a Senior Digital Content Specialist to join our team! The Senior Digital Content Specialist is a lead role that oversees student workers, works closely with contract writers and vendors, assumes the lead role for new client projects and directs weekly Content Updates meeting. This role collaborates with the Digital Content Marketing team to write and edit content for university client blogs and websites and posts new content and updates outdated content.The Senior Digital Content Specialist will keep information displayed on the sites fresh, informative and appealing. The "content strategy" is to create, write and manage content to achieve business goals and be a voice for university clients. Responsibilities: Assist with executing content marketing initiatives to drive traffic.Lead weekly Content Updates meetingAssume the lead role on new client projects.Responsible for maintaining/enhancing university client partner Blogs, including content creation.Participate in client facing meetings as needed to ensure effective understanding of the agreed upon content strategy ensuring that the strategy is achievable.Review and edit copy for all client partner websites, considering both SEO and digital content best practices, voice, style and layout and maintaining website copy documents to ensure all content is tracked and up to date.Responsible for all blog sites, including writing, editing and optimizing new and existing content as well as organizing.Maintain effective business relationships with university client(s), internal marketing partners, and other stakeholders.Collaborate with Digital Content Marketing team to ensure all pages are optimized.Ensure defined brand strategy is applied in all published content.Remain current with innovative concepts, techniques and technology to offer contemporary solutions.Assist with maintaining the consistency of corporate messaging and act as a steward of company brand.Assist with maintaining the stewardship of client tone, voice, and brand standards.Work closely with project team to brainstorm ideas, create unique concepts, and develop messaging for new campaigns and other requested materialsTrack project expenses and use of contract services.Work with contract writers and vendors; receive bids on projects, maintain project deadlines, ensure content received from vendors meets organizational standards.Mentor less experienced digital content specialists.Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees student workers who update content for blogs; scheduling, coaching and reviewing and editing their content.Works with contract writers and vendors; receives bids on projects, maintains project deadlines, ensures content received from vendors meets GCE's standards. Keeps tracks of related expenses.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in marketing or public relations/communications or related fieldsMinimum of five years experience developing content for Web preferred. Experience writing, editing and optimizing blogs, using best SEO practices, AP writing style and client input, while still carrying out initiatives from leadership.Excellent planning, organizational and successful project management skills in order to translate, define, coordinate and manage project requirements based on stakeholders' input.Knowledge of marketing analytics, ROI metrics and earned value assessment.Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships at all organizational levels.Excellent oral and written communications, a good command of the English language and ability to provide clear communications among all stakeholders.Must be able to interact comfortably with high-level staff and executives.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; cope with changing priorities and complete projects with competing deadlines.Ability to mentor less experienced digital content specialists.Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, (Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher), MS Project or similar project management software, social media platforms.Ability to think quickly and respond professionally and articulately in strategy and information meetings.An ability to work independently on a project or collaboratively as a team player and able to integrate with a diverse team with varying opinions and ideas.Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
