Job Description

The Digital Engineering Sales Specialist is responsible for direct sales that achieve revenue projections for Rockwell Automation’s Digital Engineering Software Solutions, enabling the company’s comprehensive connected enterprise vision. This includes but is not limited to selling Hardware and System Emulation, Simulation, and Dynamic Digital Twin software solutions.

Position summary:

  • Achieve Rockwell Automation Digital Engineering sales targets and meet business revenue plans for software solutions using a disciplined sales process within targeted accounts.
  • Directly responsible for meeting and exceeding quota by actively negotiating and bringing opportunities to closure while working with the broader matrixed Rockwell Automation sales teams.
  • Develop and manage an accurate sales forecast and pipeline of Digital Engineering Software and other related solutions.
  • Provide input into customer proposals and requests for information. Sales is responsible for the proposal. We don’t generate it but ensure it is pulled together.
  • Assist in the development of project scope and ROI analysis. Utilize value selling techniques to quantify project ROI and structure commercial deals accordingly.
  • Leverage Global Sales & Marketing selling resources for target opportunity identification and access. Serve as the primary liaison between customers, regional sales team members, and Rockwell Automation Digital Engineering to ensure efficient and effective communications and information flow from sales and pipeline development activities.
  • Effectively translate technical terms into everyday language and properly manage expectations, both internally and externally.
  • Provide formal regular status reports to sales management which include forecast, pipeline, and activity summary information. Monitor & report revenue and pipeline result weekly via CRM tool for assigned Verticals or Geographies to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Develop strong business & financial knowledge of Digital Engineering offering and its impact on potential business.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Hardware and System Emulation, Simulation, Dynamic Digital Twins and other emerging.
  • Application Experience:

  • Emulate3D, discrete event simulation, hardware emulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and 3D system modelling are highly desired.
  • Mechanical CAD (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, PTC Creo), electrical CAD (AutoCAD, EPLAN), control systems (Allen-Bradley), robotics, motion control, intelligent cart technologies, and warehouse management systems welcome.
  • Industry Experience:

  • Manufacturing, OEM Machine Builders, Packaging, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, Warehousing & Distribution, Material Handling
  • Working knowledge of emulation and simulation technologies
  • Software / Annual Recurring Revenue / Software as a Service (SaaS) -Subscription model type of experience
  • Working with all levels of a manufacturing enterprise – Executive leadership, Director engineering, R&D and innovation, and OEM machine builders
  • Demonstrated ability to sell at the senior management & executive levels, focusing on the business outcomes and demonstrating the tangible economic value of our products and digital engineering software solutions.

  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Software sales experience within a manufacturing industry

  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Manufacturing Information Technology or related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Proven success in achieving business results in complex selling scenarios in a pre-sales, direct sales, or sales consulting role.
  • Familiarity with OEM machine design, industrial control, commissioning / testing / training, manufacturing flow, manufacturing system integration, R&D and innovation cycle, manufacturing CAPEX.

    The total target compensation range for this role in Colorado is $147,000k to $220,000 of which 60% is base salary and 40% is variable.
