Staff Accountant

Note:This position is fully remote for now, but Kepro does have an office in Harrisburg, PA. Pending COVID-19 restrictions, this position will move to hybrid remote eventually with a mix of office time and remote time.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintains Project/Contract accounting and reporting, including project invoicing and deliverables, and provides analysis and support to the Program director to assist with management of operations.
  • Participates in monthly close process including preparing and posting monthly journal entries in the accounting system by specified due dates and preparing account analyses on a monthly basis to ensure general ledger account balances accurately reflect the results of the company.
  • Prepares bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Assists with coding of accounts payable invoices ensuring that invoices are coded to the appropriate account, cost center and corporation.
  • Assists with monthly Financial Statement preparation by insuring accuracy and completeness of contract accounting by reviewing trends and analyzing individual costs against prior year and budget.
  • Assists operations personnel with drafting narrative explanations for revenue and expense budget variances on a monthly basis.
  • Functions as a liaison between FP&A and Operations in preparing annual budgets.

What You’ll Need

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of general accounting experience.
  • Experience in computerized accounting systems and knowledge of relevant computer technology.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Must be proficient in Excel.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
