Cepheid is currently looking for a Director of National Accounts for a REMOTE opportunity.

The Director of National Accounts will ensure market presence, drive revenue growth with national health systems, and/or Government accounts and/or National reference Labs and/or our GPO partner organizations. The National Accounts Director collaborate with marketing, sales, finance, legal, technical and field service in the management of a targeted list of accounts within the clinical diagnostics market segment. This role is to facilitate and develop strategies and business activities within the assigned accounts. The focus will be to contribute to and achieve specific sales objectives, both tactical and strategic, near and long term. Success will be proven by achieving sales goals, executing agreements/contracts, driving compliance, increasing market share/installing base, and execute strategies with respective partners internal and external.

Essential job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategy to expand market share within assigned territory and developing strategic plans and lead a Cross Functional Team for support, service, and sales to support identified strategies for targeted accounts
  • Ensures that the product placement and product development correspond to market needs, the business strategy, and position products in the most competitive position in the marketplace for assigned segments and accounts.
  • Communicates effectively with the Scientific Advisory Board, Laboratory Focus Groups and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL's) to ensure marketing requirements are accurate for strategic accounts.
  • Participates in planning for the business providing detailed understanding of market directions and dynamics for the product portfolio and its Applications.
  • Engages Cepheid headquarters and executive management in VIP business development meetings with Key Customers.
  • Minimum requirements:

    Education or Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences with 12+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in Life Sciences with 8+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience
  • 5+ years managing strategic accounts/key accounts
  • 5+ Years People Management Experience
  • At least 10 years of successful experience in selling large multi-site system deals to include: government, Health System and reference lab business.
  • Knowledge and skills:

  • Ability to successfully handle several projects at once. Confident and the ability to effectively lead and engage associates and customers
  • Required to work as a member of a multifunctional team with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
  • 60% Physical travel is required when travel restrictions are lifted.
  • PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional):

  • Knowledge of real time PCR reagents and instruments
  • Experience in FDA regulated environment desirable.
