Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the Senior FP&A Analyst is responsible for supporting day-to-day company planning and analysis activities that include the development and implementation of processes and tools which will deliver optimum operations of the company's financial planning and analysis department. This position focuses on executing FP&A with an emphasis on performance improvement, providing quality management information, and furthering good decision-making and sound financial judgment through the development of reporting systems, processes, analytical tools, and key performance metrics.
The position is highly customer facing and serves as a valued business partner to Executives leaders by providing financial management support including the preparation and presentation of plans (budgets/forecasts), regular management reporting and analysis of actual results, and the alignment of business analytics with the company's strategic objectives, while ensuring those areas operate efficiently and effectively within company policies.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of experience progressive and customer facing financial planning and analysis experience, preferably in a similar non-profit, marketplace businesses and/or transactional (one-time) revenue streams of $30 million or greater with a bachelor's degree, or higher, in finance, accounting, economics or related field and CPA; Master's degree, CFA or equivalent certification is preferred. Experience working directly with business leaders on financial planning, analysis, and monthly closes to support projects, grants and department budgets and forecasts, is key for this role. Candidates must have the ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to help drive results. Experience using financial systems to prepare and manage budgets and forecasts is required, including the ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive financial projection model; strong understanding of GAAP, keen attention to detail and excel fluency with strong financial modeling, are key for this role. Individuals must possess strong interpersonal, relationship building, effective communication and presentation skills. Grant and/or government contracting financial modeling and reporting is highly preferred. Experience in higher education, Adaptive Insights financial planning and reporting software, Tableau or similar data visualization software and PowerPoint/Google Slides experience is preferred.
