The Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for delivering innovative Hybrid infrastructure solutions and technologies and solving complex problems in multiple disciplines; compute, storage, backup, virtualization, security, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and OCI)

This position is part of the Core Infrastructure Service (CIS) Department in a hybrid workspace environment allowing a mix of remote work and onsite Beckman locations. At CIS, our vision is to Design, Architect and deliver highly effective, reliable, secure, and innovative infrastructure services globally that align and support Beckman’s Business goals and objectives

You will be a part of the System Services and CloudOps team and report to the team’s manager responsible for Infrastructure Systems, Storage, Backup and Cloud platforms. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead teams and small infrastructure projects with manageable risks and resource requirements spanning hybrid on-premise and cloud technologies
  • Solve complex infrastructure problems and takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and services
  • Engage with a range of customers, leaders and other functional teams and engineers to execute on global projects
  • Socialize, communicate and influence global adoption and adherence to standards
  • The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years’ experience OR master’s degree in field with 3+ years’ experience OR Doctoral Degree in field with 0-2 years’ experience AND experience working in System Administration/Technical Operations/DevOps
  • Experience with managing projects with small resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
  • Require in-depth knowledge expertise in compute, storage, backup, cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI), Virtualization, hybrid IT & security disciplines
  • Advanced experience in Windows and Linux Operating systems
  • It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • DevOps, CI/CD automation/management (Jenkins), monitoring services
  • Backup and Recovery tools (Cohesity, N2WS and oracle RMAN) AND storage systems (NetApp, VMAX, ZFS), and Hybrid Storage technologies
