The Vice-President, Digital Experiences is accountable for leading and managing the digital experiences team for Optum's Corporate Marketing business unit. Scope of the role includes development and management of key digital properties (websites) for Optum, used for business prospect acquisition, retention and cross-sell/upsell and, increasingly, for B2C marketing purposes. This individual will drive the strategy and execution of our digital presence, ensuring that it meets business objectives developed in collaboration key figures in Optum Marketing as well as other stakeholders across Optum's businesses.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a digital team that includes website vision, website platform development, release management, content management, SEO, content production, and digital experience strategy
  • Oversee site development, hosting, maintenance and improvement with Optum technology partners and, where necessary, outside agencies
  • Accountable for ensuring 30+ sites including optum.com drive optimal acquisition, retention, onboarding and engagement
  • Drive improved Search Engine Optimization of major sites including optum.com
  • Owning and directing the overarching strategy for optum.com and related websites
  • Owning the migration of sites from acquired entities onto the web platform
  • Acting as mentor to diverse team of digital strategists and project managers to create increased competence and confidence in delivering to expectations of marketing and other stakeholders
  • Representing digital team strategy to key stakeholders, and translating business needs into execution across multiple complex B2B and B2C sites
  • Orchestrating and communicating the transition from Optum.com as a primarily B2B site to one that reflects our increasingly H2H (Human to Human) business strategy

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of Digital Marketing Leadership experience
  • 10+ years of experience influencing and collaborating with others
  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience, specifically with website design and implementation
  • 5+ years experience with Digital Content marketing (attract and convert prospects)
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Proven direct to consumer marketing experience
  • Ability to be flexible and drive strategies from ambiguous starts to deployment
  • Understanding of SEO principles
  • B2B website experience
  • Experience in developing digital strategy and long term strategic planning
  • Strong executive-level presentation skills - must be comfortable working with senior executives and managing strong opinions
  • Experience with content management systems and digital analytics packages, preferably with Adobe's suite including Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Analytics
  • Information architecture experience (users interact with websites-menu, digital guidance, etc.)
  • Experience establishing metrics and analyzing results to adapt digital strategy
  • Consistently drive the business's priorities with the various teams responsible for digital "journeys", infrastructure, analytics, and optimization
  • Ability to influence through expertise and credibility
  • Experience with enterprise web, sales and marketing strategies
  • Ability to synthesize data and qualitative feedback to glean insights and drive an action plan
  • Lead an editorial calendar process that aligns with key campaigns, product launches, and initiatives; ensure there is transparency across the broader Marketing team and key business partners
  • Demonstrate a best practices orientation and approach to solving complex information architecture and usability issues for large websites and projects.
  • Must be able to 'think on one's feet' and come up with creative and appropriate solutions
  • A broad understanding of the Web and ability to be conversant in current issues surrounding CMS, content personalization, conversion optimization for sales and other goals, social media integration, Web and email marketing, and CRM integration strategies
