REMOTE - Senior Data Scientist

Job Description

An enterprise Insurance employer is seeking a full-time Senior Data Scientist to join their team. They will be leading the team as they build out a new data platform, as well as, develop the platform themselves. On a daily basis they will be responsible for:



- Act as a senior leader helping with strategic direction for Data science projects

- Enabling Data science advancement for the company

- Interfacing with business on understanding problems and issues theyre facing, determining how to go about solving them

- The company is working on building their data platform and will need to coach the rest of the team on how to make it data science-friendly

- Meeting with teams and building analytical platforms

- Working with Data Engineers on getting data into the pipeline

- 50% hands-on work, 50% coaching & mentoring

- Will be working with AWS, BitBucket, Glue DataBrew, SageMaker, Python, Tableau for visualization, Jupiter for documentation, SQL

Minimum Requirements

- Masters in Statistics

- 5+ years working as a Data Scientist with increasing levels of responsibility along the way

- Experience communicating projects that theyve worked on with both technical and non-technical users

- Experience gathering requirements and leading a project end-to-end

- Python

- SQL

- Lead experience
