Ready to shake things up? Splunk continues to be on a tear while enjoying incredible growth year over year. With growth comes scaling opportunities and the need to take the friction out of our processes, platforms, and systems to drive scale, efficiency, and effectiveness.

As a Senior Software Engineer in the CICD team within the IT Business Applications group, you will play a key role in our Continuous Delivery Platform initiative. Our team will be responsible for architecting and building a robust platform for running a host of containerized applications for the IT Business Applications group. You will partner with various teams, learn about various application architectures and platforms, and understand their challenges to build the appropriate platform, tools, and monitoring solutions. This position requires you to be a great listener, pay attention to details, and handle various tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and rollout a robust platform for running containerized services
  • Analyze the current AWS ECS setup, development and deployment processes and identify process and platform inefficiencies.
  • Partner with development teams to understand their world and lead deep technical discussions and negotiations around platform architecture, and provisioning mechanics.
  • Design and develop tools for automation, monitoring, and instrumentation to reduce operational friction and increase engineering efficiency
  • Build and maintain CI pipelines using tools like GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Artifactory, SonarQube, Vault, and Terraform.
  • Design and implement observability and logging frameworks using Splunk and SignalFX
  • Requirements:

  • A team player. You work with and inspire others around you, celebrate each other’s achievements and learn and reflect from failures.
  • 3+ Year experience in K8. Deep understanding of Kubernetes and its ecosystem (i.e. operators, service meshes, volume management)
  • 5+ years of programming using Python, Go, or JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Pulumi, etc
  • 3+ years experience with Linux and Docker and understanding of concepts such as Networking, Storage, Docker Registry, and Images.
  • 2+ years of experience using modern CI systems such as Gitlab, Circle CI, Travis, etc.
  • Education:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience required
  • This isn’t a job – it’s a life changer – are you ready?
