Doyen Sebesta & Poelma, LLLP is a civil litigation and insurance defense firm with offices in Houston and Austin. We are looking to fill a remote associate position on a high-volume civil defense litigation docket in our Austin office. The candidate must be a self-starter and able to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage designated litigation caseload
  • Participate in court appearances, mediations and depositions
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports
  • Maintain client relationships
  • Prepare pleadings and coordinate discovery with clients
  • Conduct legal research and trial preparation
  • Work closely with other attorney and Partners on legal projects
  • Qualifications
  • TX State Bar license is required
  • 2+ years of litigation experience
  • 1+ years insurance defense experience
  • Well-versed in drafting motions, pleadings, memoranda and briefs, and discovery required
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and research skills required
  • This is a remote position but the candidate must live in the Austin area. Salary range is $85-130K and will be based on experience.
