RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is partnering with An Appleton, Wisconsin (WI) Insurance company that is currently looking for a full-time Data Architect. This role is could be 100% remote for the right candidate. Summary: The Data Architect is an expert in Data Management, Data Storage and Data Governance strategies and technologies comprising common functions such as data integration, data modeling, data cataloging and data dictionaries. The Data Architect will design and optimize our company's conceptual and logical data systems. The primary responsibility of the position will be to formally address enterprise data governance by establishing and actively participating on Data Governance Committee, establishing a Data Management Center of Excellence (COE) that focuses on introducing a data dictionary, data classification standards and a data inventory. The Data Architect will regularly provide technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams ensuring that new initiatives enable effective data management practices. This is a home office (preferred) or remote position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Business and IT stakeholders to understand their vision and challenges as it relates to Data Management
  • Conduct a detailed assessment of data landscape including data platforms, technology architecture, data flows, data consumption, data integration and document current state
  • Facilitate the Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Business Analysts in using master data and analytic data by walking them though the framework, roadmap, model structure, and workflow using business scenarios familiar to them
  • Identify and recommend the appropriate data management toolset for managing master data and predictive data management
  • Recommend and bring data management best practices to stitch together disparate data and analytics requirements along with building out the BI space and assist with Azure data factory ODS

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience as a Data Architect, in an integrated business and IT collaborative environment
  • Expert level knowledge with Data Management and Data Storage
  • Experience participating on or facilitating a successful Data Governance Committee
  • Expert knowledge in database programming including complex queries and stored procedures using PL/SQL or T-SQL
  • Strong understanding of common BI data functions, including data integration, data modeling, data mining, data visualization, and data analytics
  • Strong understanding of Big Data technology stack (including Cloud options) and methodologies, data streaming and data lake solutions
  • Familiar with managed data services on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
  • Ability to participate in innovation activities such as ideation, prototype development, and real world application evaluations
  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with team, business partners, and immediate supervisor
  • Ability to translate between business and technology, establish and foster strong relationships with Business Associates
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, resourceful team player
