The individual will be a self-starter, adept at project management, managing multiple deadlines and building relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and verbal communications skills, a willingness to jump in on new projects, and a focus on gaining the experience to become a skilled PR practitioner. The senior specialist will report to the senior manager of corporate external communications with a dotted line into the senior media relations manager.**Responsibilities**+ Monitor media trends, ongoing coverage and identify potential opportunities+ Track and analyze media coverage for Alight and competitors+ Write compelling media content (press releases, media pitches, social media content, blogs, etc.)+ Identify and support awards opportunities+ Project management across the PR team**Personal Attributes**+ Self-motivated+ Action-oriented+ Organized and can prioritize work+ Seizes opportunities+ Hands-on work style+ Enjoys challenges**Qualifications**+ 3-5 years public relations experience in an agency setting or similar+ Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred (e.g., Communication, Journalism, English, Business)+ Outstanding interpersonal skills+ Critical thinker with the ability to research and identify major media trends, identify potential PR opportunities+ Strong writing and editing skills+ Strong project management skills with the ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency+ An uncompromising commitment to quality and detail+ Team oriented with a strong sense of commitment to colleagues and internal clientsBy applying for a position with Alight, you understand that, should you be made an offer, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check consistent with Alight's employment policies.
