Job Title:

Cloud One Engineer

Duties &Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support the CNAP stack across multiple security classifications.
  • Leverage CNAP Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) to onboard and support a variety of platform teams across the DoD onto various Kubernetes distributions (Kubernetes upstream, Rancher, OpenShift, VMWare Tanzu, etc.) for disconnected environments, both classified and unclassified in collaboration with the various companies that created the Kubernetes distributions. The CNAP team’s role is to provide network access to the users’ environments and not to modify or support the applications or the endpoints.
  • Leverage and develop CNAP IaC/CaC to be fully cloud agnostic (including on premise infrastructure) leveraging technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm and Kubernates Operators/or similar.
  • Enhance the cybersecurity and the code security process of the CNAP stack across all classified and unclassified environments.
  • Develop necessary IaC/CaC changes to allow for the automated deployment of the CNAP into Cloud One and other Enterprise Cloud Services environments.
  • Utilize new and continuously hardened containers from Iron Bank.
  • Develop various backend/automated processes for the automation of the container accreditation process in React/Python or other modern programming language as approved by the Government. One example will be the Whitelist User Interface (UI) to enable accreditation teams and container maintainers’ ability to review and approve findings to get containers accredited.
  • Create any necessary documentation for DoD Programs’ and Vendor’s onboarding.
  • Create any accreditation documentation following DoD best practices such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Continuously work with Enterprise Cloud Services teams to improve their processes and timeliness for DoD Enterprise DevSecOps deployments
  • Onboard and support product teams across the DoD as they leverage the CNAP tech stack deploy to multiple security environments.
  • Work with software development product teams to troubleshoot CNAP networking issues.
  • To the extent tools are in place and available, continuously monitor and deploy CNAP software products into a multitude of classified and unclassified environments
  • Support the IT operations of multiple CNAP unclassified and classified systems.
  • Create, develop, and modify documentation to support in person and virtual onboarding and support.

    • NIST 800 53
    • NIST 800 190
    • Kubernetes Environments
    • Istio
    • Technical writing and documentation, publications and guidance
    • Cloud Engineering and Networking
    • Demonstrated knowledge in the following:
    • Platform 1 Cloud Native Access Point
    • Cloud Native Architectures and Zero Trust
    • Commercial Cloud Environments
    • Government Clouds (Preferred)
    • Kubernetes
